Cheapest way through customs?
I thought about placing an order for some Sam & Max merchandise from the TT Store and while I'm at it, I might as well get the US copy of Season 1.
Now, the thing is, I live in Europe, so if I place an order I think I'll be hit with customs charges relative to the value of the package contents (right?). Therefore, I was wondering what value will be listed in the order statement if I purchase the season first as a digital download, and then order the disc version.
It would be nice if it went through customs as a $0 item.

I believe the declared value of the season 1 DVD was $10 or thereabout (which is a bit weird since supposedly this would be the price of shipping and handling, which should not be included in the value of the package, although I can imagine the material has some intrinsic value as well). Nevertheless, I didn't receive any additional charges by customs.
I think its customary to only require payment of duty charges if they exceed some threshold. That means you're probably fine, but if you want to make sure you should look up the rules that apply in Sweden rather than inquire here.
So the declared value was just the cost of shipping? Great.
Thanks for your replies, anyway.
Trust me not to look at your location.
I'll keep moving!
If you order additional merchandise, the value of that merchandise will also be written on the customs form.
Thanks for clearing that up. This seems to be the way to go for any overseas customers anyway.
Heh, no worries. It's quite a compliment if I managed to pass as a native english speaker.
