sam & max season 1

Hi,
I purchased Sam & Max season one (actual box with disc) from Gamestop. I am trying to install but when it loads the first message i get is:
Error accessing the system registry
?
then when i click okay the next message says
Unexpected error; quitting

Any advice?

    okay saw this got moved. Guess it was in the wrong spot?
    Still any support? I'd like to play my game....
