Tales of Monkey Island Free Game Code

I planned on ordering The Walking Dead with a coupon code I got for pre-ordering Tales of Monkey Island. I see no reference to expiration or anything. The email states:

A Free Game (Choose your Poison): Why ye would be wantin' to play a game without pirates, I surely cannot fathom, aside from the fact that it won't cost you a doubloon. Use the coupon code to get a free episode of your choice from the Telltale store.

Must I wait until Walking Dead is actually released? If not, why am I getting an invalid coupon code error? I tried copy/pasting so I know it's accurate. Thanks!

    The coupon you got for pre-ordering TOMI expired in June 2010 per this thread.
    Also, another thread reminds me that it was only valid for one episode (or single game, such as Bone or Telltale Texas Hold'Em) and I'm pretty sure that is was only valid for games released before TOMI, so you wouldn't have been able to use it on The Walking Dead anyway.

    Thanks MacFly77. It's unfortunate that these restrictions were only stated in the forums. Once I buy a game and get a coupon, I expect to be able to use it and not have to scour forums for tacked-on restrictions afterward. It's surprising that this information was not emailed to paying customers. It stated originally that it was good for one EPISODE of a game, and Walking Dead EPISODE One was just released. I would have, of course, happily paid for the subsequent episodes had the coupon worked and I enjoyed the first episode. I guess I misunderstood.

    I do appreciate your taking the time to volunteer and answer customer questions in spite of being unaffiliated with Telltale.
