Bought Walking Dead...say's I didn't.

So I just bought the Walking Dead and Almost Everything Pack...Got the download link on the first page right after purchase so I downloaded it fine. But when I went to play and activate...it say's I haven't bought it. Looked in my list of games on my account, and its not there. I have read other posts saying this happened to them...is this just something that comes and goes or what?

Your account looks fine from here. Are you still having an issue with it?

I'm having the same problem and I just bought the game, I don't know what to do to fix the problem.

The game is active on your account. Please try logging into your account and downloading the installer again.

I'm having the problem as well. I already redownloaded it to a clean Win7 install and half the time it keeps telling me my account does not own the game. The other half it just stays at the 'Click to continue' screen forever.

Your account looks fine, please hold the spacebar the first time you launch the game to clear your prefs. Is this does not work, right click the executable and try to run as admin and in compatibility mode (win 98/xp).

Thanks for the response. I tried both your suggestions but nothing changed. I then tried the unofficial workaround for downloading the episodes (copying .json files etc.). That got me past the login screen, but now it is sitting at the 'The Walking Dead' screen with the scrolling text.

It does not download anything and my CPU is idle most of the time.

The game will need to verify your account status, so please ensure you have a strong internet connection when you launch the game. Also, please check to make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements to play the Walking Dead. These can be found on the store page. Also make sure you do not have any firewalls or anti-virus software preventing the game from communicating with our server.

im not even playin this on a pc and i cant even play it on ps3

    Hello Matt,

I verified everything. I played the first three episodes, so my computer obviously meets the requirements. I did not have any problems until Episode 4. My connection is strong (constant 16Mb/s downstream) and I disabled any firewall or anti-virus software to rule out any interference. I monitored my network traffic when the game is idling, and there is no traffic at all, it does not even seem to try to connect to your server.

This is getting ridiculous, I love your games and this game in particular, but these hiccups are bordering on inexcusable.

When you reinstalled the game, did you try to paste backed up saves into your directory before running the game?
  • edited October 2012
I tried both these scenarios. A clean install without any savegame copies and an install on a different Windows 7 installation with copied savegames. The behaviour on these two system is identical.

A small addition: I tried another installation on a completely different machine that never had TWD installed before. The result is the same!

Could you tell me the proper channel for a formal complaint and a refund request, please? Sadly there are no signals from your end when these problems are going to be fixed, I will no longer put up with this.

I tried another fresh installation on another system, and on that it tells me my account does not own the game.

To sum up: I have two machines that stay at the 'The Walking Dead' screen after I entered my account information. On the third it tells me I don't own the game. That is unacceptable, as is the fact that this thread is getting ignored for almost a week now.

Any more ideas? I can't play my purchased game, no matter what I try.

Please try logging out and back into your account.

Matt, is there any word on whether you could reproduce the bug I encountered at Telltale? It is getting extremely frustrating, none of the steps you suggested changed anything.

And I ask again (since the question was ignored before): Who do I have to contact for a refund? I don't want to contact a lawyer for this....

I have updated your account with a new serial number. Please log out of your account and then log back in and try to start the game again.

Unfotunately we cannot offer a refund for a digital title you purchased 6 months ago. I understand the problems you are having with Episode 4 and am happy to offer any assistance I can. If you have already tried a clean install on a computer that you've never installed the Walking Dead on, with no save data carried over, and still cannot get the game to run, then your account is probably the problem. Hopefully the new serial will resolve this. If not, I will put in a request to our Web team to investigate your account.

When logging in, make sure you properly enter your email address and password.

Well I'm having the exact same issue with The Walking Dead game as well. When trying to purchase it, I was informed that my billing address was incorrect. Going back and trying to fix it, I somehow was almost charged 3 times. I, however, was charged the one time, went through, yet I still have no game. I've called the number provided and emailed the support, but no word back. Help?

You currently have an open purchase order because none of the transactions went through. If you are sure your information is correct, please contact your bank for more information. Any charges that may still appear on your account are only temporary and will not be processed.

Never mind it fixed itself. I had originally said I had the same problem.

Can you please clarify what issues you are having? Are you getting any error messages when attempting to download the episodes? If you are still experiencing the issue, please try shutting down the game application and turning off your device (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them). Wait a few minutes for the cache to clear and then restart the device. When you start the application again, please make sure you have a strong internet connection when starting the downloads of the episodes.
