Title Update

In the sticky thread about the save file issues it says that a new title update has been released to fix this issue. However, when I restarted my game I didn't see any update. I tried deleting it from my hard drive and re installing and I still didn't get an update. I was just wondering if anyone could confirm that they have downloaded the update and that the update works.

We are checking with Microsoft now about the Title Update. We apologize for the delay.

When I loaded up the game yesterday, I didn't get any title update either.

Anymore news on this problem? I still can't play Ep.4.

Don't tell me you need a patch for the patch: this is ridiculous.

Yes, it is ridiculous. I had faith that Telltale would get it cleared up in a timely manner, especially with how fast the PS3 got a patch. But, the episode has been released a few days short of a month now without anything getting resolved. I've begun to lose my patience with this whole episode 4 debacle. When season 2 comes out I'm going to wait for the retail release so that when I buy it I can actually play it.

I feel exactly the same in regards to losing patience, and would like to add:

Telltale need to improve their customer relations on this forum.
It's been a month, and we've had two progress updates in that time and a lame workaround suggestion, that incidentally didn't work, at all - with the implication being: we, the customers were doing something wrong and not that the game is, in fact, inexcusably broken.

I know it may seem pointless to announce an update when you're still working on a patch, but after weeks without any news on the progress; it would have been reassuring to let us know that you're still working on it and not just sitting back, raking in the money.

I didn't get prompted to download any patch either. This has surpassed the point where it's making me angry; this is so pathetic, I can't help but laugh.

Will the patch allow us to recover lost progress? None of the work-arounds work for me. Launching Episode 4 resets the game to to the start of Episode 1 and overwrites my save data every time.

It beggars belief that a software company could release a console game with a such a massive bug that triggers so easily. How was it not corrected before release? I bought the game today, almost a month after release, and it simply doesn't work. Why is it even for sale?

The title update will correct the issue with only 1 save slot being recognized. If you are experiencing this problem, then your save may still be in tact and accessible once the update is downloaded. If your save has in fact been overwritten, there's no way to recover it.

One of my friends told me he was going to buy the episodes 'cause he grew interested in the game after hearing me rave about how amazing it is. I let him know about the issues regarding episode 4, and told him he shouldn't purchase it until the patch is made available. I also suggested he back up his saves on cloud. If you run into someone that hasn't bought episode 4 yet please do the same. Make others aware that there is a problem since it's obvious Telltale isn't going to do so.

    Thanks for the reply, MattP.

Oomi, I completely agree. It's such a shame, since a lot of talented people are obviously working hard on this series. But what's available isn't finished and shouldn't be on sale. Episode 4 won't even launch for me. That's never happened to me before with a console game.

When I went into the Walking Dead game today I had to download an update & I can now access all of my save files. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the patch should work now.

Good for you, Oomi. I read your post and immediately tried turning on the game: unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience - my game is still broken.

    Any news, at all, Telltale?

There may be a delay depending on your region or country.

Yeah still no update for me. I'm afraid to redownload episode 4 or start another save file so I can't play until I get this update. What regions is the update available? I live in Atlanta if that helps.

You can download episode 4 without worry, the Title Update is a separate file that will install when you start the game, regardless of which episodes are installed.

Sometimes when an update goes live, especially over a weekend, it can take some time to become available in all regions and countries. Please check again later tonight or tomorrow morning. I apologize for the delay in resolving this issue.

Yeah, I'm in Canada and I have yet to have the update pop up upon startup.

This is literally the one reason I'm not playing the spectacular game you developed because I don't want to lose my progress. Thanks for getting us close to a resolution, I look forward to more play throughs.

Any idea for when this hits us?
