iOS version -> Does this mean I can't play episodes 2-5 anymore?

My iPad just informed me that there's an update for BTTF part 1.

BUT. The description says that if I update part 1 and want to delete parts 2-5 from my iPad (I've finished the game) and free space, I can never again re-install them without paying you again.

I mean, WTF? You can check which AppleID has been used to purchase the parts, it shouldn't be a problem allowing those who have bought all parts to be abel to download the episodes with the new app.

So, fix this. We've paid for the episodes, we want the abality to choose when and where to install them. What you're proposing now is extorsion: "Do as we say, or you'll pay". That's no way to treat customers.

As far as I can tell the recent update changes the game from being separate apps for each episode to using one app to access all the episodes. You will not have to pay again for episodes you already own, I think you just get them differently, from inside the main game app (the old episode one).

    I'll quote the description:
    ★★★★
PLEASE NOTE the release of this new universal base app will replace Episodes 2-5 apps of Back to the Future: The Game which will no longer be available for direct download on the App Store. Ownership of these episodes cannot be transferred to the universal app, so if these episodes were not backed up to the iCloud or kept on the device, they can no longer be acquired without purchasing the Episodes 2-5 multi-pack. Ownership of Episode 1 will transfer to ownership of the new universal base app.

Exactly. It can't be that hard to connect the information of who have already paid for the episodes to the new app.

The old standalone apps for Episodes 2-5 have been replaced with in-game downloads in the new universal app that supports iPhone devices. Unfortunately ownership of the old apps cannot be transferred to the new in-game content, although ownership of Episode 1 can be (and has been) transferred.

You can still download and play the superseded standalone apps right now. Just be sure to back them up to the iCloud if you want to remove them from your device, because they will be removed from the App Store eventually. More info is available here.

That's just very good I thought when you download a digital game you own the rights to the game ? Why can't you just allow the people who's payed for the games once move them to the app that you've changed ???

What this means, in reality, is just what I said. Even if I "backup" to iCloud, once I remove the episodes from my iPad, the iCloud "backup" will delete those too in the next sync. So, the end result is as if I never bought the damn things at all.

How can you make a system that works as poorly as this? You have the info of all the people who've bought the episodes 2-5, and you could easily let these people reload the episodes in the new app as well. What are you afraid of? People sharing their AppStore passwords with each others?

I've played the game through and would like to delete the apps from my pad to allow more space for something else. But now I can't. I have to keep them there indefinitely, if I ever wish to play them again.

This is poor planning, poor execution and poor customer service. I will let all of my friends know not to make the mistake of purchasing anything from Telltale again, if this is the way you treat paying customers.

FFS, just let the ones who have episodes 2-5 on their iPad redownload them in the new app. It can't be that difficult to do.
