Beginning walking dead epi 5 lost save and restarted to epi 1

arg. I saw a ton of people where having issues with episode 4 of walking dead. Fortunately I was not one of them. But now that same issue is happening with episode 5. I went to retrieve my saved game of episode 5, but it booted me all the way back to episode 1! Losing all of my saved information! 2-5 had nothing at all! Very upset right now. I am hoping for a solution without having to start over from the beginning (which there is no way I will do). For anyone who has not started 5 yet, BEWARE!

    Just started Episode 5 booted me to Episode 1. Game save is Episode 1. Lost all choices through Episodes 1-4. So unbelievably dissappointing. How can this not be fixed by now?

    We are still investigating this issue and hope to have a resolution in the near future.

    Some user reports have indicated that they were able to recover their save games by copying their save from slot 1 to slot 3, then loading their slot 1 save to the last episode they were playing. This should begin the last played episode with prior choices intact. Unfortunately we have not yet been able to confirm this workaround.

    This happened to my girlfriends save file today. Put her right back at episode one. This is after the so called update to fix it, so clearly that didn't work. we've managed to use the work around suggested above but this means she has to replay the whole of episode 4 and we can't be 100% sure that it's kept all her previous choices. If this messes up again when she goes to play episode 5 we won't be trying again unless you actually fix it this time. We'll also keep asking for our money back because we don't like being ripped off with faulty products. We were really enjoying this game so sort it out please!

    [TWD] March 29: Is there any other known fixes besides getting the latest update online, saving multiple times at the end of episode 4, and restarting the system before starting episode 5? This happened to my son's game today.

    We tried the method of copying to save slot 3 then going back into our original and playing from episode 4. It seemed to remember our choices in previous episodes so we carried on playing for a bit then quit to continue later. Later when we turned back on and continued it took us straight into episode 5 and had remembered our previous play through from before it all went wrong. Very random but seems to be working. They do really need to fix this properly though.
