Saved Game Not Showing In-Game?

So, in April of this year I finally bought and downloaded all episodes of The Walking Dead and beat them over a course of a few days. A little while after that, I got a new PS3 and transferred all of my save data over to it. Just a short while ago tonight, I bought and downloaded the 400 Days DLC.

On this new PS3, I clearly have the save data from my playthrough of the Walking Dead (although I can't find the game data, but I don't know if this is the source of my issue?).

However, when I start the game up, it doesn't give me the option of 'resuming' my game: when I choose 'play', all of the episodes are there and downloaded (including the DLC), but when I try to play the DLC or any of the episodes, it asks if I would like to generate random choices for episodes skipped.

Why does my save data show up on my PS3, but not in-game? I shouldn't need to replay TWD just because I'm on a different system, now, and I really don't want to generate my choices before I play 400 Days. Is there any way this can be fixed? Does it have something to do with the missing game data? Please help!

Are you using the same PSN ID you were using when your save game was made? Saves are not transferable between accounts, and this may be the reason why your saves don't appear.

Yep, I'm using the same PSN ID - I deactivated the old PS3 and activated the new PS3 using the same ID. Is there any other possible cause for this?

Since The Walking Dead saves are locked, it's possible this prevents the saves from being used after any kind of transfer. We will look into this to try and confirm, but I also want to mention that if you have PS Plus, you can upload your saves to the cloud and pull them down on any PS3 you log into with the same account.

Crap. Is there any way for me to bypass that? I love the game, but I'm not so keen on playing through all of it again just to play the DLC with my choices intact.

Would getting and using PS Plus to transfer the save file allow me to play with that save file on my new PS3?

I am having the exact same issue on my ps3 after i got 400 days. Same account same ID and everything but getting my save file from ps plus's cloud service did not solve the issue

Re-downloading Episode 1's unlock code from the playstation store has resolved this for me. i can now see my save files. just redownloading episode 1 and may work for you as well

YES! What GentlemanZombie suggested worked perfectly for me, I feel like such an idiot for not thinking of it before, haha. Thank you so so much! And thank you, too, MattP, for trying to help. I really appreciate it!

I'm having the same issue as manders in regards to transferring all my data (both game data and save data) over to a new ps3 with the same psn name/account. I did the steps suggested in this thread but I still have the same problem of not having my save data not showing up in game.

Having a similar problem, but in my case I'm trying to play Episodes 3-5 for the first time. No saves seem to exist for Episodes 1-2 anymore (can't check stats, can't rewind, etc.), and E3 asks if I want to randomly generate decisions (although, the couple of times I did that it actually seemed to "randomly" generate the decisions that I made).

Also, I started Episode 3 anyway with the "random" decisions and it never actually auto-saved. I died and then the game froze on a black screen.

I will definitely try this trick with downloading the unlock for Episode 1 again.

Quick and a very sad update: my game saves on my ps3 are GONE :( very sad this happened and I don't know what caused it!

If you navigate to the XMB, then the Game tab and select Save Data Utility, is there a Walking Dead save file? Also, did you use the cloud at all to transfer your saves to your new PS3?

The posters above you mentioned that re-downloading the Episode 1 unlock key worked for them. Have you tried doing this?

The only game save there at the moment is the new one created when I downloaded 400 days. I did not use the cloud to save my game the last time I played.

I have also tried downloading and installing the episode one unlock key multiple times and that did not work.

I'm a season pass holder. I do not know if that makes a difference.
