Snake Boxer

Has anyone beaten Level 9? The snake here takes like half your health when it hits:( Any hints? I think this is like the last thing I need to do in the game

Have you found and used the cheat code? This makes the game considerably easier.

    Specificially,
when you use the cheat code, you're a snake. When you're a snake, you get a special power that isn't obvious. If you hold block (press right) for a few seconds, you get a yellow glow around your head. If you let go of block, you shoot fire! 4 hits with fire kill any opposing snake.

Killing with fire gets easier the longer you go in the game--just stay in the middle. When you let go with fire, the faster snakes have a significant chance of just wandering into it and taking damage.

The strategy is to just hold block, and then let go with the fire quickly when the enemy snake is moving, and go right back to block. You're very difficult to hit, and you hit very often.

Ok, I got to 12 knockouts. The high score still isnt Green on my collectable page though. Has anyone got this? whats the highest score you guys have?
  • edited August 2008
Mine's green at 17. The 18th snake seriously cheats. I hit it once with a regular bite, and zero times with flames. And the one hit may have been a bug, since its health only went down after I lost a life, after mashing ctrl at the exact same time it bit me.

OK, I just got 20. and the high score in collectable has gone Green

    Heres a tip

When the snake is moving so fast, you cant hit it with fire in the middle of the screen, Move to the very top or bottom of the ring and fire from there. You'll pretty much get it every time.

Yeah, 15 gets you green. And after 20 knockouts,
the game apparently runs out of textures and all subsequent snakes will be all black. There's nothing more to find though - I've made it to 53 knock-outs, but neither the game nor Strong Bad gave me anything for it. Stupid game. :(

The trick is to just practice using
    the snake's fire breath
. If you get good at it, you can get to the levels where the snakes kill you in one hit :D

Without the secret forbidden mode. I got up to snake 46 :| and at about snake 20 and onwards were all black snakes. I've found it slightly easier with the boxer dude than the cobra. but then again I didnt get too far with the cobra.. :P *shrug* The boxer had more range than the snake, I found because of his one/two punch method. when the snakes got faster I'd get the boxer to punch while going up and down on the screen and block as soon as the snake crunched up to get ready to bite (PC)
even though its a simple game, I like SB5 :D

To start with I dont know how to hide "Spoilers" so for those who havent played SBCG4AP much, I'm sorry.

in snake boxer 5 I have now reached snake #87 and thats as far as I could get! anywhere I tried to attack, I ABSOLUTELY could not hit the snake, not one hit.
I noticed that purple snakes start to pop up around number 71 and I found you could only hit them at certain spots in the ring. so all I did was find that spot and keep using fire breath between snake 55 to 70 or so, sometimes gave up and just kept hitting them with bite attacks (while using my up/down attack method)when I kept missing with the fire. I dunno how far anyone else got in SB5 but I'm just noting where I got to.
So far I'm pretty stuck in the game. I think I got everything but dunno if theres anything I missed until episode 2 comes out

ummmm, are you guys so bored that you spend like half an hour playing snake boxer 5?! I mean, i gave up after my first game past 15 knockouts, and now i don't play the game anymore.(at least until somebody tells me how to get the KOT in the hole in extended play).

Managed to get to 17 or 18, before the Snake got to be too cheap and avoided the center of the screen, even so much as to going through the fire and not touching it.

YOu can just move, you know.

uhh.... i go to the top, and take turns between doing snake fire and jamming ctrl and right... worked for me...but VERY BORING

Yeah, I know. I got to around the 21st round by moving up to the top and having a better hit ratio. But by then the snakes kill you in one hit.
