Ticket ID #9551
I opened this ticket September 21 and to date have heard nothing back from Support. Your customer service is severely lacking, and a total disappointment.
Here is my issue:
My Mac suffered a hard drive failure so once I had a new hard drive installed I re-downloaded The Walking Dead game from your website. However, once I've downloaded the game, my computer tells me the file is damaged and I am unable to play it. I trashed it and downloaded it again, but again the file is damaged. Could you please help me? My Order Number is 600185366711536
And on a similar note: when I log into your site, under Receipts, it tells I have none. Why is that when I clearly bought The Walking Dead game from you?
If you expect to retain me as a loyal customer, I expect someone to get back to me with an update on my issue. I would love to play The Walking Dead again, and I would love to buy season 2 when it comes out. But I will not, if my issues continue to go ignored. Please provide me with a clean download file for the game I purchased.
Comments
The missing receipts are a known issue with the new site, that the web team is working on.
The message that the file is damaged is a misleading warning caused by Gatekeeper.
To fix this you will need to disable Gatekeeper temporarily:
Click the Apple logo on the top toolbar and select "System Preferences". Now select "Security & Privacy". If the padlock in the bottom left corner of this screen is not open, click on it. You will now see 3 options for downloaded applications, they are: "Mac App Store", "Mac App Store and identified developers", and "Anywhere". Please select "Anywhere" and then confirm your selection.
Now you should be able to run the game. After you have started the game once, you can reactivate Gatekeeper by setting it to "Mac App Store and identified developers", and it should not show the warning again for this game.
Thank you -- However, now that there is a new OS for MAC I'm screwed -- the game will not run on OS Mavericks and from what I gather on a different thread ("OS X 10.9 Instant Crash") Tell Tale Games will not update the game for the new OS.
"Due to MAC OS 10.9 not being available before the The Walking Dead was released in its entirety, we recommend playing on 10.8.x and below."
If this the case, I demand a full refund.
I am just a volunteer from the community, so i suggest you write an E-Mail to TTG support: support@telltalegames.com
I did. However, Telltale Games Support is a giant black hole. Messages go in... good luck if anything comes out.
The Gatekeeper issue is a known Mac issue for all 3rd party software. The 10.9 issue is now resolved with an updated Mac version of The Walking Dead on the Telltale store which is compatible with Mavericks.
