Game breaking bug: Choices from Episode 4 do not carry over to Episode 5

Same issue here as in other threads (I started a new one, because for some reason it didn't let me post in those), choices I made in Episode 4 are not carrying over to Episode 5. I rewound it twice, even changing my original setup of Ben, Omid and Christa to Kenny, Omid and Christa - as well as changing the dialogue from "Please don't hurt her" to "What do you want from me?". I also veryfied my Steam cache, all to no avail. The result is always the same: I end up with only Omid and Christa by my side and the dialogue is changed to the silent option.

The fact that I and many other users have supported this franchise from day one, pre-purchased all episodes in a bundle only to see that game breaking bugs like these are still in the final product a year after release is very disappointing and discouraging when it comes to pre-purchasing the soon to be released Season 2.

I have attached the support file [removed]. Please advise.

This is usually caused by having multiple prefs.prop files. The support tool could not determine the install location of the game, so I don't have the detailed information i would need to tell you exactly where to look.

Please navigate to the install folder, and check all sub folders for files named prefs.prop. If you find any, rename them to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate them.

I only found one file named prefs.prop within the structure: the walking dead\Pack\WalkingDead104 and renamed it accordingly. Here is my new file [removed].

    Looks promising.
    Please rename the prefs.prop in
    C:\Users\Username\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
    to prefs.prop.orig

    Then move the prefs.prop.bak from
    D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead104
    to
    C:\Users\Username\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
    and rename it to prefs.prop

Then check if the game has your Episode 4 choices.

Thanks for the quick reply and help, I'll try to do so and will keep you updated if it works. One thing though, please delete my name from the file path, as I do not want it published on the internet without explicit consent. =)

EDIT: it has worked, thanks a bunch.

    Glad it works now.

Oh sorry, I didn't notice the name. I have removed it and also removed the links to the support files from your posts.
