Can't start Episode 3 anymore

Hello everybody,

i got a little problem, hopefully you can help me:

I've finished the game once, but of course i wanted to play the game at least a second time.

Unfortunately i can't get from Episode 2 to Episode 3 anymore. When i'm trying to start Episode 3, i'm just getting a black screen and nothing happens.

I reinstalled the game, tried it again from the beginning and AGAIN the same happened.

So is anybody able to help me? I even deleted the first save file, so i wouldn't even be able to start with my "file" in the next season :(

    Can you provide us with a little more info?

    I'm guessing you're using a PC, but what operating system are you using - Win XP, Vista, etc?

    That sounds like savegame corruption due to multiple prefs.prop files. That's often fixable, but if you deleted the save file your progress might be lost. By looking at the file hierarchy I can determine the best solution.
    Please follow the instructions to run the TWD Support Tool and post the download link to the resulting "TWD_support_data_pc.zip" or "TWD_support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.

    @Darth: Yep, it's PC, and it's Win 7, 64bit. And i bought the game at Steam.

    @DjNDB: I forgot something: It wouldn't be a big problem if the save files are lost, but as i said above: I can't even restart.... ok, i can, but i can't play further than the end of Episode 2.

    I don't want to try it for a 3rd time as long as i don't know if it works now....

    Please rename the prefs.prop files in
    D:\Spiele\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default
    and
    D:\Spiele\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead103
    to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate them.

    Please rename the prefs.prop in
    E:\Program file\New Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead103
    to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate it.
