Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

You have two graphics chips. Intel chips don't work well with TTG's games and they might crash. Please check your graphics drivers settings to make sure the game uses the Nvidia graphics chip.

I have the same problem. Mine zip is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwppy-KGVN44SzczYzVoU3R2a3M/edit?usp=sharing

  • Ya, I'm pretty sure I set the game using Nvidia chip.
    I just checked it..

    It's still the same error.

I was unable to find the error events in the support tool data. I just updated the support tool so it will hopefully find it this time. Please download the latest version of the support tool, run it and upload the result.

    here is the new one.
By the way, I tried offline and run the game, I successfully enter the main menu but the error happened again when I try to start a chapter.

Still no error event data, but i don't know the cause.

Please verify the game cache files](https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335).

If that doesn't fix it, please check if the game crash creates an entry in the
event viewer in the "Windows Logs/Application" section.
If so, right click the entry, select "copy the details as text", and paste them in a new reply.

There's nothing specific in there so I am not sure what causes the crash. I still tend to believe it's in some way graphics related though.

One more thing you can try is starting the game during a clean boot:

Booting clean in Windows Vista / 7:
    1. Click Start --> Type msconfig --> Press Enter
    2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
    3. Uncheck Load Startup Items
    4. Select the Services tab
    5. Check Hide all Microsoft services
    6. Click Disable all
    7. If running the game on Steam, re-check the "Steam Client Service"
    8. Click on OK
    9. Click Restart.
    10. After reboot, run the game to see if it works.

After performing the necessary steps, restore your settings by doing the following:

    1. Click Start --> Type msconfig --> Press Enter
    2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
    3. Click Ok
    4. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer

  • I'll try that ..
That seems like the last choice for me cus there's something wrong with my computer's booting.

I wish I can play the game cus I love zombie games...
I bought the 400-day dlc and was going to buy season 2 as well.
But it was disappointing that I can't play it...

    Thanks DjNDB.
    :D
