I think it would be better if we got off TellTales back and give them some breathing room. I mean, they have TWD to look after since there's a huge anticipation for that one game and they may not have that much time to focus on a game they just started. Right? So lets just let them do their magic and surprise us with what they want to give in time. TellTale is probably having a hard enough time trying to meet the deadlines they have set, so lets not stress them anymore then they are. There only human people.
Dude, a completely different team is making TWD, and the forum moderators have assured us that the release of one is not affecting the release of the other.

Given the fact that there are going to be some news about TWD season 2 on Monday, according to Telltale,I'm starting to think that we are still gonna have to wait one or two weeks more.Because if they end up releasing TWD before TWAU,there will be another delay.Because even though different teams are working on each game, they won't release them at the same time.It will take at least one week to release a trailer for TWD and then release the game. And after that I expect them to wait a little bit before doing the same with TWAU.

And that my fine sir is the problem. We DONT know what's going on. That's what upsets me the most, we are given absolutely no info at all. Leaving the customer hanging without any info isn't customer service.
With all due respect, you don't know what the problem is/problems are, whether they were foreseeable or avoidable they were. Neither do I. Non… moree of us do. One thing we can be sure of is this hasn't been good for them publicly or financially (having your employees work on a project longer with no further charge to the customer is going to hurt the coffers) and they will be looking at how they can avoid this happening again. Things will get better. They have a history of delivering everything they announce (with the exception of King's Quest, which was pulled off them for reasons unknown).
As indie companies get bigger, info gets a lot less frequent and a lot more formal/bland. I think building up a PR department has something to do with that. PR people are very paranoid about what info goes out to the public.
Has anyone considered that there's been no info in the last week because their head of PR had the week off? My bet is he wants to scrutinise and supervise every morsel that goes out. I hope they have come up with info to release for this week.

There are tricks to remember what you chose though. Record what you play, writing down how you played except for Toad's apartment which you will remember anyway, or choosing a certain method of play.
So let's say it's gonna be a month and a half to two months each episode if it takes that long in between.. Then It would take about 6 to 8 months to play a game that takes 10 hours or less to beat. Call me impatient, but something seems off about that. Also you don't go selling season passes more than half a YEAR before you can fully enjoy the game.
That doesn't excuse the fact that it's been a hell of a wait without a single comment from them as to why, or even that it's delayed. Only that it's "coming soon"

@staffevie
That´s very true, there are some strengths in making episodic games but their biggest weakness is the wait time between episodes and if you have to wait 2 months I think many people will loos touch with the game and the choices they made previous episodes.
I wish telltale would improve their communication with the customers, I did buy season passes to twd1 and twau but I am not gonna buy twd2 before I see how they handle releasing the next episodes of both twou and twd and their communication with the customers.

I agree with Staffevie. 6 months.. Grrr! If each episode took like 10 hours to beat playing quickly I could understand a month between each release.. but that long.. For only 2 hrs and each one beat.. Wow... Also.. Hopefully they will continue to release on ps3, cause there is no way I'll buy the next console just to play any of these games further. Lol. Not enough play time.
I will say this though.. If they every turn TWD or TWAU into rpgs.. That would be awesome! So many stories to be found in that world, and an rpg lets you explore everything! So many sub stories to go along with the main.. A big open world, etc..
The wolf among us would also make a great TV show. I would predict high ratings if that happened.. Absent the romantic interests ALWAYS being killed off.. Grr!
TWD series is also better then the TV show in regards to story.. Just .. Why have the main character die.. Yes, powerful ending.. But an ENDING!.. I don't want to play as clementine.. Some little girl.. They better introduce an awesome lead character to make up for that loss.. I will say though.. Good story all the same. And if they kill off the main character again.. sadly.. I'll be done. Lol. Any no more romance interests being killed off.. They can add so much to a story. Maybe offer more then 1?
OK. It kinda sucks, but this was the last time i bought one of Telltales's games full price. Seriously. People who buy the game have to wait more than a month until they can continue. More than a month for about 2 hours of content. I mean: usually you get something in return for buying a game on release. The ability to experience the story earlier than others, for instance. But the only thing we get is waiting and speculation. Now TWAU is on sale at steam and we're basically the guys who got screwed. There isn't even an official comment from the devs. I'm not even asking for a specific date. But they can't even give us something more specific than december (maybe)?
Thing is: They got the engine, most character models and skins should be done, the story should be ready, too. I understand that they want to ship TWD2 before christmas, but if they develop it at the cost of their other franchises, that's a pretty shitty policy.
Im willing to bet that they didn't intend for this to happen. I think they even said that after all this nonsense is done, they can get back to regular schedule. Also I disagree that we got 'screwed' because we bought the game on release. We all know roughly how many weeks it takes for the other episode to be released, so go ahead and wait then. I really don't see your point here.

The worst thing in all of this waiting, apart from the frustration for us, apart from the complete lack of certainty about release dates, is the fact that we are all saying the same thing "WE DON'T MIND IF ITS LATE BUT AT LEAST COMMUNICATE WITH US OR GIVE US A FEW PICS OR AN APOLOGY" but still we see absolutely nothing from Telltale. Which means they either don't read the forums or they read them and still haven't offered us anything. Both of which makes me feel quite sad, given that I immediately bought the season pass for TWAU and I think so highly of the quality of their games. They clearly don't think so highly of us.
Love the idea of an open world RPG.. And Yes! Who wouldn't want to watch old fairy tales smoking, drinking and fighting on tv!? Not being sarcastic lol I think it would be a great show.

The fact that it is a prequel makes me belief TWAU will be a standalone 5 episodes, and maybe they'll juggle a different Fables story, I have my doubts on that though.
They can't juggle anything. Cinderella comics cover a huge chunk of Fabletown history. There are a ton of loose ends. And did you notice the series text underneath that is the same as The Walking Dead and only the ones that have several seasons have it written.

Aaand that's about the extent of the information we've been given. Look, I understand that making games is difficult, especially episodic ones on a tight schedule. I can accept the fact that you don't know when it will be done until it's actually done, I get that. What I don't get is why you can't say what is left to be done and what isn't. Surely if the voice acting is complete, it can't be too hard to say "Hey, the voice acting is complete". If there's some bugs that are being worked on, I'd wager it's pretty safe to say "we are working on bug fixes". And if you're unsure if, say, the voice acting is complete or not because the story isn't entirely fleshed out, then say "We're unsure if the voice acting is complete, as we may or may not add another scene that will require new lines."
So, while I understand completely while they can't us information regarding the release date, I don't even vaguely understand why they can't give us any information at all. Perhaps I just don't understand how the process of episodic gaming works, but I find it hard to believe that they don't have even the slightest idea about the completion status of anything regarding the game until it's 100% complete. If that really is the case, then I'd recommend nixing the whole "Every month or so" line in future projects.

Moderators, I appreciate what your trying to do, I really do, and I know its not your fault, but you really need to forward this thread up to your superiors to get some info for the sharks or its going to get so ugly that you will probably have to lock this thread or delete it all together which will do nothing good for Tell Tale games.
Moderators, You have done your best, and I appreciate that, to maintain order with what little you know but your situation is becoming untenable.
Tell Tale, consider that the immersive story aspect you are trying to build as your "signature" is actually hurt if to long a time is taken between elements to develop the story line. You are working against yourselves and hurting the immersive story's you are trying to tell. I just hope someone who matters considers that.
If there ever was an example NOT to post a hasty release date, it can be seen with South Park. They keep pushing it back and pushing it back. All this does it make people angrier and make the company look worse.
Telltale is doing it right. If they don't know when the game is going to be released, it doesn't make sense to make up some arbitrary date just to appease the masses. The risk just isn't worth it.
Meh, getting a little impatient, mostly because I'm in a game draught, and I was counting on TWAU to carry me through until South Park: The St… moreick of Truth (also delayed ) would be released.
I just hope it's not due to having to split resources between TWAU and TWD, because if it is, I'm going to be even MORE bitter towards my friends who are into that series.

Episode two isn't late. The official The Wolf Among Us frequently asked questions page has no mention of a release window, just that they'll release another episode periodically. The unofficial frequently asked questions thread takes into account Telltale's usual releasing practices, which is anywhere from 4 weeks (which was usual before 2012, although even then a two month wait between some episodes was not unheard of) to 8 weeks (which was the release schedule for the first few episodes of The Walking Dead). But note that this FAQ is unofficial, so even if the 4-8 week release window is passed, it still wouldn't have been late since no specific time frame between episodes was ever set.
That said, it is very likely we will get episode 2 this month (especially since Telltale's director of public relations implied on Twitter that it's coming in December).

At this point, a lot of people aren't really complaining about the episode being late, granted some people do; It's just that absolutely no info has been given about the next episode at all within this long time everyone's been waiting. Not an ETA or anything relative to that. And you say it is very likely that we'll get episode 2 this month.. Why can't TTG just tell us that?? Does it have to take some person to find a tweet to stick on this thread for all of us to know about that??

Everyone waiting for TWD season 2 got something to hold them over until its released tonight, I kinda wish TTG would do the same for TWAU
wawit wait wait, I am lost, is TWD Season 2 being released tonight???
"Everyone waiting for TWD season 2 got somehting to hold them over untill its release tonight "
Nope. They got something to hold them over until there release. They got that that information tonight. I completely see how you thought that though.
ohhhhh XD thank you, first I thought you had some inside info and was like "Why ain't the boards being filled with ITS OUT ITS OUT!!!"XD
I'm hoping that we'll have some new info on Smoke & Mirrors by the end of this upcoming week. We haven't forgotten that people are looking forward to that one too!
I know its just "hoping" but dear god am I happy you wrote us this for Smoke & Mirrors
Thank you
I don't really think a screenshot and a "More in a few weeks!" really counts...
Thanks for the clarification P.B
Hehey, that's just what we wanted! Thanks for posting, puzzle.
where is my precuis....ahhhh
If it would be delayed till next year I really would be disappointed. That would be 3 months gap... Well, lets hope they release two of their episodes before christmas, because I don't expect them to release something between christmas and new year.
