I'm hoping that we'll have some new info on Smoke & Mirrors by the end of this upcoming week. We haven't forgotten that people are looking forward to that one too!
Can I ask? Does this wait happen alot, because I kind of suddenly got into The Walking Dead S1 when all the episodes were released. So this whole waiting thing is really gettin me high strung. I just got the season pass for TWAU but looking at these comments is freaking me out. Are these long waits Normal?!?
In TWD season 2 release thread,Telltale said that it will take a few weeks before the release of TWD season 2.And if they mean to release it before TWAU we are gonna have to wait for the very end of the month, or even possibly until the first week of January.I hope that the same delay won't happen with the other episodes because I think I would have to wait until they're all released and that would also be hard.
I'm hoping that we'll have some new info on Smoke & Mirrors by the end of this upcoming week. We haven't forgotten that people are looking forward to that one too!
This is not normal, why don't they give any info about TWAU while the episode 2 should be out for over a month. people paid for this. the least they could do is give an actual release date or some info. instead they deliver us a picture of clem and omid of TWD S02. ridiculous in my opinion.
The wait is part of the experience. If you expect 7-9 weeks between releases you won't be disapointed. I can't remember, if we ever had 6 weeks between episodes for TWD, but 2 months seems to be the avage periode of waiting.

Indeed. Im holding off on this game until all the episodes are released. TTG will be loose with their release dates and quality control because they know they can be. People will still buy the games, anyway. They're giving their costumers the "Apple treatment" with their current stream of products and i agree it is annoying. Plenty of other stuff to play in the meantime.
i hope that episode two will be released this week, i played the entire first season of TWD when all the 5 episodes where already released so … morei am not used to have to wait to play an entire game. It´s kinda annoying to me, i hope i can get along well but the waiting is killing me
Why.... why do i wait? Im starting to regret that I paid for this game. Week after week and there's no news about ep2. This is how you build distrust with your customers.

Episode two isn't late. The official The Wolf Among Us frequently asked questions page has no mention of a release window, just that they'll release another episode periodically. The unofficial frequently asked questions thread takes into account Telltale's usual releasing practices, which is anywhere from 4 weeks (which was usual before 2012, although even then a two month wait between some episodes was not unheard of) to 8 weeks (which was the release schedule for the first few episodes of The Walking Dead). But note that this FAQ is unofficial, so even if the 4-8 week release window is passed, it still wouldn't have been late since no specific time frame between episodes was ever set.

I am frustrated as well.. I read a comment above saying beginning of January or the end of December.. That is ridiculous.. You'd think as professionals they would have the episodes completely finished prior to release of the first. And plan a monthly release.. That way, at most.. it is just minor bugs they have to work on. And there is no delay. They can't seriously still be doing ANY work on the 2nd episode or the 3rd..
I mean.. All this for only 2 hrs of gameplay an episode.. 2 months wait or more.. stupid.. 1 month for every hr of gameplay, hahahaha..
I could understand waiting a month if each episode was 8-10 hrs.. That would at least come to an average size game by the end of the 5th episode.. If you didn't count any rpgs of course, lol. I explore the shnit out of them, lol.
Why.... why do i wait? Im starting to regret that I paid for this game. Week after week and there's no news about ep2. This is how you build distrust with your customers.
is that really what it said.. more in a few weeks.. WOW... Maybe they are trying to make it a year between releases of seasons to make it almost like how annoying certain tv shows can be making you wait.. like 10-12 hrs of gameplay for a 10-12 month wait for the next lot, lol.. 1 hr = you have to wait a month, lol..
Well.. I'm starting to loose interest. Damn shame really.. I wanted to play this game.. Great story.. Both the wolf and the dead. Played all of season 1 and the dlc from TWD and first ep from wolf.. Too much waiting.. angry .. grrr
No. I want a professional release without delays. As in, completed prior to the first episode's release; with a planned monthly release schedu… morele.
And I wouldn't mind having gameplay time being drastically increased. 1 hr of play for every month of waiting is stupid.
Episode 1 is always shorter than the others. If someone explored every single place and waited till the last second to respond to someone it would take 3 hours at least. Don't forget the choices. You have to multiply every single choice. The end result would be way more than 8 hrs and even 10 for that matter. All that I want is a few comments on how far Telltale is finished with episode 2.

Read carefully.. If we wait 3 months for each episode.. And each episode is 3 hrs of gameplay.. Translates into 1 hr for every month of waiting..
I am just going by what I see.. And it is looking like we are going to be waiting till the end of this month or the beginning of January before episode 2.
in either case.. if it is released in 2 weeks then that is what? 2 month of waiting.. So 1.5 hrs then.. Lol.. Just not enough is all I'm saying.. And the wait is silly long.

You mean 8-10 hrs total for all 5 episodes I assume? Or do you mean after all is said and done.. It will translate that for each!?!?
If the 2nd part of that is what you mean then.. That works great! As that would make a 40 hr playthough. Thus granting an average size game outside of rpgs.
But I know that won't be the case.. As TWD series, including the dlc; is not even close to half that.. And they had to wait like 15 months or something for everything.. And then another 5 months for season 2, that is if it comes soon.. 19 or 20 months for 5 episodes, 1 DLC, and potentially 1 episode here soon.. All that averages 3 hrs each.. That is INSANE! .. They will still be releasing the first set of wolf by the end of next year at this rate..

Nope I mean with all the possibilities and playing to the full extent possible one episode combining the choices will be at least 24 hrs per episode even episode 1. One playthrough is not the entire episode. One playthrough is around 2 hrs, the episode possibilities combined are a lot longer.

I guess there are lots of possibilities. But the overall story stays the same on the big points. Deaths and so forth. There is no way to change the ending on TWD series for example.. I would play again for different endings, but sadly.. There wasn't any. Just certain differences leading up to the ending.
Like.. I wonder what the bad guy ending would be, or the good guy, etc.. Or the neutral. Kind of like what they did in Knights of the old republic. That original rpg from years back. Played it multiple times to see the endings and how things were different along the way being bad or good, etc.. Several rpgs captured that type of story.

Well, TWD season 1 was a masterpiece and they didn´t take so long to release the episodes, so we know they can do it. It´s fair to expect the best from the bests
Each episode varies though, and as far as I recall The first season of the walking dead had many delays as well. In the end we're just all just passengers on the great telltale-train.

19 months since episode 1 released and we are still waiting for season 2 episode 1.
For 3 hrs of gameplay an episode.. That is a long wait.
Granted.. Some people play multiple times to fill in the time. The main story points stay the same though.

At least Valve never got its customers to pay in advance for Half Life 3.
It feels to me like we were given the broad ETA of "November" -which was then narrowed down to "late November" after it got to about halfway through the month. Now it's being pushed even further out.
This almost feels like a con now.
Players are encouraged to pay in advance and still after November is up there's still no more precise details about when the game is going to be released? Fair enough my life doesn't hinge on this new series coming out as soon as possible but with the lack of any significant deadlines what's to stop Telltale from just never releasing the episode and forever claiming that it's "on the way"?
I really enjoyed TWD season 1, but this convinced me to wait until a couple of episodes for TWAU and TWD season 2 are released before giving Telltale any money.
This is not normal, why don't they give any info about TWAU while the episode 2 should be out for over a month. people paid for this. the le… moreast they could do is give an actual release date or some info. instead they deliver us a picture of clem and omid of TWD S02. ridiculous in my opinion.
There was never any official estimate of November by Telltale games. If you saw November listed anywhere, it wasn't from Telltale. Don't trust any dates given by any site that isn't backed up by an official interview with Telltale staff or an official press release.
Telltale has never given any release date estimates for The Wolf Among Us, and at this point, we're well within the usual Telltale release time frame. Two months is not unheard of for Telltale's games (the first few episodes of The Walking Dead were released 8 weeks apart and going back even further, the second episode of Back to the Future was released two months after the first).
As soon as Telltale gets the release date of the episodes back from their distribution partners (Sony and Microsoft, which control the release dates on their respective consoles), they let people know the dates. Anything other than that would be a guess, and Telltale has learned from past mistakes not to do that, such as when they gave refunds and a free game people who pre-ordered Jurassic Park when the game was postponed.
The reason it takes a month or two to release the episodes is because Telltale's games really are created episodically, as they develop their games as they're making them, rather than finishing them ahead of time and then holding onto them until release (Telltale keeps working on the episodes right up until release day in the case of the computer versions). This has the added benefit of allowing them to improve gameplay or include topics in the storyline based on gamer and critic feedback (such tweaks to the action parts of The Walking Dead in later episodes, or the battery joke in episode 2 of The Walking Dead, or the joke about the length of Bone: Out from Boneville in Bone: The Great Cow Race).

I think you're missing the point of the episodic format. If they had all the episodes complete prior to the release of Episode 1, there would be no point in making in an episodic game. The point of having the episodes is so they can gather feedback from each episode to help develop the next. Granted, I'm sure most of the general storyline is all planned out, but they still (hopefully) listen to feedback from fans and use that to make changes.
Believe me, I'm frustrated with the wait, too, but if you're asking them to have each episode complete before the last is released, you're missing the point.

As much as I love Telltale, their greatest weakness has always been communication. The website for even the released games has only the most basic info, technical support communication is borderline non-functional (getting Walking Dead functional was a year long nightmare), and customer communication on upcoming releases (especially ones customers have already paid for) is not up to good customer service standards. You don't want to make promises you can't keep, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't continuously communicate with your customers regarding the issue. Regular updates are key, even if the update is simply Hang Tight.
And then there is our feedback. Telltale uses the comics as a guide and us on what we want. There is open room for the fables we'll see. I strongly doubt we'll have a DLC considering the title. The only time we should be worried is after 2 months.

I understand that; It is good that there is feedback to be had. However, they can still complete the episodes prior to release due to them following in some extent the written series as planned. Then releasing them on a monthly bases, and make changes to the already completed episodes based on what is posted for each monthly release, etc.. Perhaps even posting poles to that extent; granting them an idea on possible changes. It would certainly cut down on wait time, and perhaps it would even allow them to add and episode or two, due to them being ahead of the demand curve.

Judging from my experience with The Walking Dead this seems to be normal for Telltale. It was an agonizing wait of about 2 months for each episode, with last-minute info regarding release dates at best. As an example I'd like to submit this lovely 108-page thread with people waiting for episode 4: http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/32607/the-walking-dead-ep-4-release-dates-are-out-psn-na-october-9th-pcmacxbox-10th/p1
