Impassable bug early game - All That Remains?

So I just got to the campfire which is very early in the game. After unloading her backpack, I cannot follow through with any additional options. Walking up to the campfire does nothing and is unable to be selected. The eye icon also is green.
I decided to watch a youtube video to see if I was just missing some item I needed, but I cannot even get to that point in the game. No matter where I try and select to "view campfire" it will not work. If the first time I come out of the cutscene I head slightly in a little bit from her backpack and select the fire, the screen will cut black momentarily, but then go right back to her.
I've tried restarting from a savepoint, and then since it is so early in the game restarted everything. The game always gets stuck at that point.
PS3 - 500gb White slim
Not using previous saves - game wouldn't register them (maybe because I bought the disc-based CE?
Edit - Just took a video of it. Sorry, was doing it one-handed while trying to play the game. Compared it to videos online and she should just automatically walk up to the fire based on other's playthroughs.

I would like to rule out all of the variables that may be causing this issue. Are you pressing the Triangle button or the X button? To view objects with an Eye symbol, you must press the Triangle button. If you are pressing it, and you still experience the issue, please try deleting your save and replaying the episode from the beginning. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your help. Deleting the save file worked. What is weird, is I had already done that before making this post
I also deleted my old save files from the previous games since they did not upload correctly anyway, so I am not sure if that helped or not.
