TWD Season 2 crashes
Hi, i preordered The Walking Dead Season 2 from steam few days ago. And today i downloaded it but i got APPCRASH. When i launch the game, screen goes black for few seconds and closes itself instantly. I tried everything, but no result. Me and my brother are very sad because we were excited to play it just as it launches.
I'm looking for your reply.

Please verify the game cache files.
If that doesn't fix it please post your dxdiag info.
dxdiag
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it, and upload it to an instant filehoster and post the download link.

I'm using a Turkish OP. If you need anything to translate, you can tell me.
Thanks.
I am not sure what causes it yet.
Please install the latest Realtek HDA driver.
Please also check if the game crash creates an entry in the
event viewer in the "Windows Logs/Application" section.
If so, right click the entry, select "copy the details as text", and paste it in a new reply.
Hello I am also experiencing the same issue in which I get the "TheWalkingdead2.exe has stopped working" crash error message. I am really upset about this because I bought this game at full price the day I could and now I can't even play it. Please let me know what I can do.

Please help me... I can't wait to play...
On Windows 8 the game crashes if joysticks/gamepads are connected. That bug is fixed in Windows 8.1, available for free in the Windows 8 Store.
If you don't want to upgrade yet, you can try an unofficial workaround. In short, by downloading and extracting this zip file, and copying the dinput8.dll next to the WalkingDead2.exe, you should be able to use the controller normally. Make sure you delete that dinput8.dll after updating to Windows 8.1, to avoid possible problems in the future.

It might be an issue with the rather old graphics card. Using low graphics settings might work around it.
Please download this zip archive and copy the prefs.prop it contains to
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead Season Two
Then try if the game starts.
I tried this method too, but it didn't work, again. It didn't changed the resolution. My monitor says it launches 1024x768 but the game instantly closes itself. I'm sure i copied the .prop file to right direction. I even tried the "-save" and "-autoconfig" launch option from the steam but no result.
I don't know what else it could be. I just updated the support tool to include season 2, so maybe some more information will help narrow it down.
Please follow the instructions to run the TWD Support Tool and post the download link to the resulting "TWD_support_data_pc.zip" or "TWD_support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.

If also that method won't work too, could you help me remotly via TeamViewer ?
I was able to reproduce the problem. It appears to be caused by the Umlaut in the path to the steam library:
C:\Hüseyin\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead Season Two\
The game should work if you create a steam library with only a-z characters in the path. You don't need to move all games, you can create another library just for TWD S2, to keep it simple.
To create another steam library, first open Steam. Then at the top menu select "view -> settings". In the windows that opens up select the "Downloads" tab. There click the button named "Steam Library Folders". In the new windows click the "add library folder" button. It will open a window where you can create and select the location of the new library folder.
For example you could create a library at "c:\simple".
Now you can either copy the game to the new location or simply download it again (A bit easier but might take longer).
Alternative 1: Copy
Go to "c:\simple\SteamApps" and create a folder named "common".
Copy (Don't move!) the entire "The Walking Dead Season Two" folder from
C:\Hüseyin\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\
to
C:\simple\SteamApps\common\
In steam, select "Delete local content" for The Walking Dead Season Two.
Install "The Walking Dead Season Two" and select the new library during installation.
Alternative 2: Download
Select "Delete local content" for The Walking Dead Season Two.
Install "The Walking Dead Season Two" and select the new library during installation.
Thank you so much! So the problem was just a "ü" letter after all! Also there was a save problem but we handled it. And again thank you so much for your help, keep up the good work!
