Season 2 crashes upon importing save/ episode start up

Howdy. So Naturally I played all of Season one on my Ipod 4 using IOS 5. Now that Season 2 has come out I have downloaded it using my Ipod after upgrading to IOS 6. I boot up the game, and attempt to import my saves from season 1. My saves are detected and I select save slot 1. The screen goes black and the small loading sign appears, only to crash. I open up the app and re-launches to leave me in an infinite loop.
I have tried: Using different save slots for both seasons, plugging in my Ipod, and continuing without import. Nothing works
So naturally, this is where I turn to the community for help. So this is the part where you help me. Thanks!
Update: Tried deleting it and re-installing by syncing it via computer as that has solved some past problems for me. That didn't work either.
Edit: So apparently the game isn't supported on Ipods older than gen 5 according to posts here. That sucks.

me too! this is so frustrating!
Just found out that it does not work on iPods older than 5th gen
Could you show your sources as I'm hoping this isn't the case. Do you also know if it's a permanent problem or just a current thing.
