[SOLVED] Problems of save INSIDE season 2 (not common updating season 1 issues)

Hi,

I bought Season 1, 400 days and then Season 2 from Steam. I completed Season 1 and 400 days. First of all, it seems to have some incoherences between what I choose on Season 1 (especially the end, with Lee) and the cinematics at the beginning of Season 2. Weird because I got a success message at the beginning telling me that my saves are imported.

But that's not the main problem. The problem is that I played on Season 2, completed few chapter (till the 6, finding food) and then lose (the dog beated me). First thing, I got the red screen with "click to continue"... and nothing to do ! I cannot continue. I remain on this screen and I just have to restart the game. Moreover, more important, when I restart the game, I can choose my chapter, but, no matter which one I choose, everytime I got the screen with the import of the first season save and the beginning of the season 2 (previously on the walking dead, etc.) I do not want to start again the full episode so, do you have any idea ? I checked on the folder, everything seems normal...

Here are my data files : http://www.sendspace.com/file/ma12vn

Thanks a lot !

I can take a look at your savegames, if you zip and upload the entire savegame folder ( D:\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead Season Two ).
Please upload it as a single .zip file to an instant filehoster and post the download link.

  • Hey,

I don't know what caused it, but the saveslot1.bundle in your savegame folder is pretty much empty. It's just 40 zeros. Judging by its Date it was probably never really updated during your playthrough.

Please verify the game cache files to be sure the game is properly installed.

I think the primary goal is having a consistent set of savegames for the entire season 2, so the only proper thing you can do is replaying Season 2 Episode 1.
I suggest you remove the entire savegame folder "The Walking Dead Season Two" from
    D:\Documents\Telltale Games\
first to get rid of everything that could have caused the corruption.

Then check if it imports your season 1 decisions properly. If it doesn't, please check if you see the correct stats for each episode in season 1. If that's the case, you can either wait until the potential import bug is fixed, or start playing with what it shows.

After playing the first chapter try if you can load the save properly before continuing.

  • So, I check the game cache files, everything is correct.
And ok, I'm going to remove the entire folder and try to start again the first episode of the season two.
I'll let you know if this corrected my bug.
    Thanks again !

  • Hey,

Everything works now fine. I can close the game, restart it, and my saves are perfectly correct.
So, I finally could have finished the first episode of season two... looking forward the next !

    Thanks again for your help.
