We will get a release date by the end of the week, so be patient. The second episode is already uploaded on Steam servers so most likely the game will be released on 14 or 16 january.
I didn't mean to disparage or insult anyone.I,as almost everyone am a dedicated fan and I wait for the next episode! The fact that I have posted this in the forum doesn't make me less human so that I may ignore the holidays or that the developers are human persons too with families.I just said that I want to play. And yes,I do buy graphic novels. No offense!
So I've been waiting for episode 2 for nearly 3 months, like just about everyone else here. I've never been on these forums before, and made a… moren account just to share a few ideas and observations for those of you taking the time to read this.
If you can't wait to get your next fix of Bigby & Co., I really suggest you go out and purchase the graphic novels and start reading the stories. Bill Willingham is a great writer, and the art and format are top notch. This is exactly what I did, and it's helped me survive the wait for these reasons:
a) If you know nothing of the Fables canon, you'll really learn to appreciate the small things you may not have noticed before while playing the game. I won't provide details, purposely, as I am NOT a great writer
b) There are so many books, it will provide just enough of a buffer for you that when you're finished, episode 2 will just have to be ready (won't it? Here's to hoping at least)
c) This… [view original content]
What will happen to this thread once the game is (eventually) released? Its probably the longest running thread ive ever posted in...lol.
Which is, if you think about it, a big shame....

Everyone is different, I personally feel a company should be able to communicate when their games take on an extended leave. I'm not sure why admitting there is an issue, is so taboo to them. I replied Puzzlebox, asking her with greatest bit of respect for more information, when she said "Our Dev's worked through the Holiday, We're still working"...
That's not one bit of information more, then what we knew a month ago. At least in that one, we knew Jack was added. it's a generic "we're finished soon" is more frustrating, and discouraging then the actual wait. Knowing, they won't tell you like their on NDA. In any case, looks like from their twitter,
Their still on victory tour for the walking dead. It seems person who voices her, will be interviewed by gaming magazines. I'm just curious why they don't explain the situation. Is there any good excuse for not reveling more notes to community? Let me guess.."Game still Polishing 3 months now"
My guess is that they submitted the game right before Christmas and then let us know about an "update" early January (when they come back to work), because that's when they're going to release it.
That's what makes sense to me at least. If that's not the case they're either insane or there are some serious problems behind the scenes that they're not willing to share with us.
So unless Telltale submitted the episode right beofre Christmas time to Sony and Microsoft we are likely not going to see it until January 20t… moreh or later since it generally takes 2 weeks for stuff to get approved through those channels and Telltale staff isn't officially back in office until tommorow (January 6th). So have fun waiting....
Lets not waste our time just to know when will the next episode be. It will arrive when it did and infact this is a start for a new series so we can't be expecting too much about it because it is still in its early stages in the storyline and you probably understand for the team because they also got the walking dead S2 to deal with so times is all we need and I'm sure they're trying their best (keep it up!).
Personally I think I could just wait until it all been release and play the game to the end, that way I don't have to be all jumpy with what will happen next and just enjoy the game.

Calm down, you wont lose your staff job
Taking money from people for a season pass on release with the promise of each episode coming out … morewithin a certain time frame. Then offering people who buy it "later" a reduction in price, openly treating the more loyal initial customer with a lack of regard before the 2nd episode comes out.
Also I have had trouble with The Walking Dead Season 2 on XBox Live, seeing as I'm an Irish Citizen. It wasn't released here and they gave no explanation, at one stage even saying they had no plans to release it here at ALL. This, after selling 400Days as a prologue to Season 2, which they had no problem taking money for.
After a while, under much pressure, they said that there was a ratings issue in Ireland and that was the reason it wasn't released. This makes no sense as Ireland uses the PEGI system, which had passed it. Coupled with the fact the the game was released in Ireland on PSN an Steam, making… [view original content]
You are really spoiled these days, complaining about not getting updates of a game, hahaha. Going back to the good old Amiga-games (and still Telltale's wonderful stories) and leaving this shitty forum. Good riddance to all the snot-nosed brats that demand entertainment. Goodbye forever.

I think being a big Half-life fan has kind of desensitized me in regards to delayed episodic content. I'm sorry to hear how frustrated some of you are, I think it's pretty reasonable, to an extent. I really don't like seeing people fighting with each other just because they have different opinions, it's a forum and everyone should be allowed to say what's on their mind. That goes for both sides.
I'd like to imagine all the delays are caused only by high ambition, although that might not be entirely right.
Either way I'm confident that Telltale are producing another great episode, and I'm very much looking forward to getting some news soon!
Have a nice day everyone!
Hurry up and wait got used to it, well cant do nothing about it so I just started playing another game.
I hate waiting but if you cant control it, no use on dwelling about it ,but that's just me.
It seems that The Walking Dead was a huge success, and now TellTale is in that weird transition stage from "low-budget studio" to "AAA studio". They've amped their engine, and they've started work on other series as well (The Walking Dead: Season Two, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones Project, Poker Night 2) and God knows what they're doing with their engine for Game of Thrones (because it's not a cartoon or a comic). TellTale seems to be busy, and they don't just make the whole game at once. With these new series, choices are a big part and make the development process much longer. You need people to create characters, scenarios, dialogue, choices (that are balanced), and what they all look like. You need to balance dialogue and cutscenes with gameplay, and have it all fit together naturally. With the choices and different dialogue, writers need to write every possible dialogue scenario, and when different characters are alive and you've treated different characters in different ways, there are tons of different combinations that a dialogue sequence can play out. The development process for these kinds of games are much longer than something like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed, because you're not just creating new maps or weapons and features, they're creating a story that can turn out in many different ways.
This waiting and wondering, unfortunately, isn't new to me with my being a loyal Half-Life fan. I guess I got used to the "when it's ready" me… morentality we always get from Valve whenever the subject of "when is HL3 coming" was asked.
Has TellTale always had two multi-chapter games being released at the same time? I know TWD chapters were still being released when they released Poker Night 2, but PN2 is different (read: no chapters).
They released TWD2 and TWAU pretty much at the same time. I wonder if working on two multi-chapter games is causing delays.
sniff But... but... You can't leave! What will I do without you!?!
Edit: LOVE the down votes! Either someone is genuinely going to miss this mook (as he takes his toys and stomps off) or if sarcasm is truly lost on these people. Either way, it's funny.

Maybe one of the voice actors walked away and they had to replace him or her. I'm not sure if they record the entire storyline/script before production or during. But if an actor walked away, they would have to find someone who sounded similar enough.
Don't you think they might have signed a contract or something to prevent that.
IF the fan base picked out stranger and he was the killer then TTG is in worse trouble then I thought after Jake and Sean left. I just can't believe it would be that easy. The delay is just something that TTG has come to do anymore what is a shame. They should have never released 2 games at once.
Since when did the 14th become early of the month? How is this mathematically possible?
Early of the month is the first week!
2 weeks is the middle of the month..
3 weeks in is the 3rd quarter, and the end is just the end..
Telltale will miss their early of the month mark if something isn't done by tomorrow.. Never mind the 14th.. But that still doesn't make up for all the silence and bad planning which has resulted in this debacle to begin with..

Staff member Hedulven will probably be back.. Perhaps under a different name.. But he'll be back..
So prepare yourself for comments that make no sense for 2014, as it is not 1995 anymore.. Lol..
We expect professional behavior to go along with the present day.. Not this BS we have been seeing..
Lack of communication, forward planning, poor PR skills as to engage the community, etc.. The list goes on.. As it stands, the early month mark is pretty close to being passed in my opinion..

Steamdb is showing an update 18 days ago. Not sure where you're getting those dates from?

You signed up, just today. To tell those who been waiting three months for a game. Just to wait, some more?..
Well, this delay between releases basically missed the point of "episodes." Oh well, I'm trying to wait as patiently as I can.
early January ends Friday.
This community feels like this:
oh yeah, we can expect another 2 BRAND NEW screenshots and words, like, 'next update => early february' , heheh

Is your family name "Telltale?"
One would think that the difference between circa 20 days-wait (up to date) and waiting three months would be quite obvious...

Bad, bad man.
And yet you don't sound much different than they do, you've just chosen a different target.
Nope, the title will just be updated for the next release.
At the very least, with Telltale you know the 5 episodes WILL be released... eventually (as opposed to some).

Aw hell, I've got four different games on the go. Three of them are Episodic and waiting...
Meow.
Don't you think they might have signed a contract or something to prevent that.
I'm more worried that they had to change the plot significantly as a result of the fanbase working out the mystery straight away.
I hope that's not the case.
