I am playing this through steam on the Mac. I seem to have a problem with season 5 completing. I finished it last night then came back to see that it didnt have my stats available and had to redo the final sequence with clem and Lee. This time it seemed to finish so i went to do 400 days and finished that with getting everyone to go through trial and error (yay!). So i finish that and go to play season 2. Season 2 only says ive completed up to episode 4. i was ok wtf is going on here. So I go back to see that ep 5 isnt done (again) but 400 days is. So im like ok no big deal its the very last sequence for episode 5 and then i know everything I have to do for 400 days. So i go to do that and i get just a black screen and a movable mouse cursor to go back into episode 5 every time i do it even with rewinding. So yeah help please I want all of my stuff to carry over to season 2.
edit: replayed the last part of episode 4 just now and that didnt fix the episode 5 not loading part.

yeah i seriously think that my main problem is that episode 5 doesnt load at all ,maybe just fixing tht and replaying it will work...
I deleted all local data in steam and redownloaded/installed the game episode 5 still doesnt work
Since you changed a lot by reinstalling, please run the support tool again, because what could have worked before might not anymore now...
playing on pc through steam and i have this exact same problem. been looking around online for a few days and found out it was a good idea to go straight into 400 days without quitting after finishing episode 5, so i replayed most of ep5 and got to finish 400 days without it asking to generate any decisions for me. but i still can't see any stats for the episode in TWD season one episode browser, season two import feature says i'm on ep4 with 400 days cleared, and trying to rewind it claims i'm at ""Above River Street" and it'll either
a) start in with the final autosave of episode 5 choosing between the gun or keys
or b) get me a black screen with cursor and no loading.
some solutions said to play around and do backups with the prefs.prop file and it does seem that reloading to a point before 400 days wipes that progress. i've just managed to restore it so i have my 400 days stats back and i don't dare mess around with it anymore at this point. cleared all of season one twice this past week and all i want is to play season two already.

It's difficult since you've already changed stuff and continued playing, but if you're lucky you might get better results, if you move the
prefs.prop from
E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead105
to
E:\Users\Matte\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
That would have been the best solution before you played 400 days, and should have your stats up to episode 5, unless there were other issues before.
well i'll be damned. just that simple copy procedure seem to have done... SOMETHING at least. now i have a savefile with ep5 all completed and i can run 400 days from there with no problem. tho i guess steam syncing can do weird stuff later on. it's a short bonus episode so it's no biggie to play through that again. hopefully ep5 STAYS completed now thanks a bunch, wasn't expecting any semblance of a solution.
Oh, I forgot that again. You should disable cloud sync, as it might undo your changes.

alright, now it seems like it won't save my final stats from the epilogue of 400 days. every time i complete it, exit and reboot season one the "stats" tab is gone and i have "continue" as an option taking me back to the epilogue. posting my data here in case there's another simple solution, like pasting one prefs-file over another or something. but all of the regular season one shows up as completed when starting season two and that's by far what's most important. would be nice to know everything's registered properly but i guess i can live with it either way.
Pease move the prefs.prop from
E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead106
to
E:\Users\Matte\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
You should also rename or delete the prefs.prop in the WalkingDead105 folder, because having multiple prefs.prop files will break later playthroughs.
yep, that did it now season two knows i've completed s1 AND 400 days. guess everything did come down to a disagreement between prefs.prop-files. and in summation it looks like finding the one with the right timestamp and moving that to your users/document-folder did the trick here. again, thanks a bunch; now i can start up season two with no worries.
I got a little busy but I ended up fixing it by running that script from a pinned thread that manually reinstalls each episode and backs up saved game data and it worked
