I don't get what's the big deal to write few words to the fans , they didn't promise to release an episode every 1-2 months but they did promise that they'll release all of them by summer which means they have 5.5 months left.
When does summer start? Here in Russia it starts on the 1st of June. Just curious, because winter in Russia starts on the 1st of December, but in USA it is 21st of December.
And pardon me if my English is bad.

If it is a flop, I think that cancelling it might still cost them more because of all the money they will have to return to customers who bought season passes.
I think it is a good day to tell us what's going on. If I have bad news (or any news) for someone I think that they'll handle it better on a Friday than on a Monday.
I just hope they actually give us a release date, but that's a bit too optimistic. At least let's hope the say something. Even a thing like ""we're working hard on it" helps.

Today is officially the end of early January, so i'm optimistic that we may even get a release date. If not, well..... I guess "soon" will remain the answer.
While it is an absolute joke at this stage that the second episode has not been released yet, let alone an actual informative update. I expect that all the people coming on here moaning each day will be the very same people coming on singing the praises of TT & TWAU as soon as the episode is released. Then, just like deja-vu, they will be back on moaning again for an update and release date of episode 3. All you are doing is feeding the frenzy that I suspect TT are purposely creating by keeping information close to the chest. (very cheap and effective marketing)
I had a similar thought too, that the delay might be due to some third party non-disclosure agreement. However, I strongly doubt that it could be due to certification. That process normally takes 1-2 weeks, and it's to make sure that the product is technically robust. Given that episode 1 is out, I can't imagine there being any technical faults with the game to delay by 3 whole months, which is enough time for a further 2 or 3 submits. I remember DICE speaking openly about a Battlefield certification taking a frustrating amount of time, and it's unlikely that Telltale couldn't say something on the matter if this was the case
My only thoughts for the delay are that either there is a problem with the game's age rating being too high (unlikely I know, but ep 2 does contain nudity which as we know is a stupidly controversial subject when it comes to ratings).
Or that the game is already good to go, and Telltale are making the release fit in to what they believe to be a better release schedule for this year. And of course there's always the theory that the community has guessed the identity of the killer and they're rewriting the game, which is an equally ridiculous theory!
You know, I've actually got a pet theory for this: console certification. I hear all kinds of things about how you're not allowed to delay th… moree XBox version of a game, even if the PS3/PC/iOS version is ready to go. I also hear that if you are delayed by certification, you're not allowed to say so. Is it possible that TT's PR department is weeping into a beer mug, cursing Sony/Microsoft/whoever for not being allowed to do their jobs and tell us what's up?
The lack of an episode 2 in due time is ruining my experience with the game. Telltale is ruining the game!
Episode 2 might very well be awesome, but the waiting have turned into a bad farce. I will be going into the second episode with a sour taste in my mouth, and as soon as I have completed it, I will go back to being annoyed with Telltale.

Stop ruining the game Telltale!
I think we all miss the point of the last update. "We're anticipating another update on its ETA for release very soon after the holidays." Probably means there will be some holidays, in some month, and update is gonna be right after them.
So we now must be especially happy about any upcoming holidays, maybe they will bring the update
Waiting even longer will only ruin the game even further. I'm forgetting details, and I am forgetting what choices I made, what was said and what wasn't. I don't remember how my conversation with Beast played out any longer for instance.
Episodic gaming is fine. But releasing the episodes too far from eachother will ruin the experience.
Um... I'm not sure whether this was the right thing to do or not, but I did it anyways. I sent a message for puzzlebox, here's the thing I wrote:
Dear puzzlebox
Can you please, please give me a bit (even a tiny, tiny bit will help) of info on the second episode of TWOU? I mean I think it would be safe to say TTG has delayed episode two. I will still remain patient for the release but checking the blog hopefully (and maybe even optimistically) for an update or going on the community for something everyday is driving me nuts! The three month silence has done no good and I'm sure you know it has created an angry mob of season pass buyers but what keeps you guys from saying the smallest words to us? Even one sentence like "We're working hard here. End." will definitely help us pull through the silence the company has chosen. I don't care how much you say to me, I just NEED to know SOMETHING about episode 2. It's getting unnerving by the second since today's the last day of early January. So please, anything? Anything at all? Thank you
So that's it - maybe I'm TOO optimistic to do so, he/she probably gets thousands of these daily. I'm not even sure if they would read this or not but hey, I can hope, can't I?
I think we misunderstood Telltale, when they said early January, they probably meant early January 2015.Right now they're probably too busy with all their new games! But seriously though, what do they not tell us what happened? Waiting is way easier when you know why.And the worst part of this is that we may be waiting for just another 'coming soon' statement!

Oh man, Smoke & Mirrors would be perfect if it comes sometime early next week. I need to occupy myself for another month until we get the next TWD episode: A House Divided. I'm currently in the evil cycle after a released Telltale game where I just keep re-winding the first episode...

Yea I get that, its just the phrase " very soon" itself that makes my skin crawl.

I don't understand why they have no community manager who gives us information

Do you guys think they will release a trailer
My arms are heavy, knees weak, palms are sweaty, will TWAU episode 2 get released already?

just wait a bit more if news dont come out today then i'll fly to america go to telltale's office and shit on their desk
You only have to calm down and wait for the release of all the episodes; then you can start play again, in my opinion
maybe i'll do it too
We will need video evidence of that.
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready.....
i will record all of it
like anybody who bought it has the self restraint for that. i know i don't

glass 'em
to drop bombs,
But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down,
The whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but Episode 2 won't come out
But no salt-licks, we still need the epsiodes

Puzzlebox is a she, not a he.
Dear Telltale, please hire a decent PR team.
Come on telltale, valve is not a company to be looked up at.
Funny that you mention that. Gabe Newell said 2011 that they were done with the episodic model.
Darn, I meant to write he/she but seems like I forgot anyway fixed it.
