Where was Beauty going??

edited January 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

I suddenly came to realise that I cannot articulate a logical explanation to where Beauty may of been going that night. I couldn't understand why she specifically said to "Not tell Beast". I also couldn't comprehend why she was hiding in the shrubs, when Bigby walked through the gates, when Beast was inside the building. Furthermore I came to realise that it must have some involvement with the main plot line or Telltale wouldn't of added in an unnecessary piece of dialogue so mysterious as this. Does anyone have a possible explanation or a theory to add? Many thanks for reading.

Well everybody presumes that Faith was a prostitute. I think that she did offer some kind of other 'services'. Faith started it for the money. I presume that Beauty did/does something similar for money.

  • I was postulating the same thing.. But that doesn't explain why she hid in the shrubs as Bigby walked though the gate, bearing in mind beast was inside the apartments..? His suggests she was worried about it being someone else? Any follow up?

Well I think of it like that:

    • She is very likely ashamed of her 'job'.
    • If she goes out and meets someone she knows, that person is probably going to ask her where she's headed. She has to lie.
    • It is very likely that she meets someone she knows, directly in front of her apartment building.
    • Further more, the person she's meeting is headed directly into the building and probably directly into the hands of Beast. Which of course is going to question him out about Beauty.
    • Therefore Beauty is going to have more problems with Beast than she already has.

  • I assumed she was stripping in order to make ends meet.

Beauty and Beast have a happy marriage, there's no way she would actually prostitute herself, but stripping is just about plausible.

  • I see! Is there anyway she could be the next girl on the hitlist? Just a rational thought. Snow and Faith were female and both new bigy.. Alike Beauty?

  • If I remember it right, in the trailer for Episode 2, there was a scene were Beast was angry with Bigby, questioning him about the whereabouts of Beauty. So it is indeed possible that Beauty is the next target.

  • I personally think she is a major suspect. She was right there in the same location as the murder right before it happened and acting very suspicious.

  • Anyone ever tell you your avatar looks like a bunny slipper?

  • Yeah I've heard that before. But I think that Bigby mentioned that the murder was committed somewhere else. Because there was not enough blood.

  • Besides, Beauty is a human Fable - a posh one at that. She doesn't strike me as the type to do heavy lifting.

Right its been established that the murder was not commited there but she could have been preparing to put the head on the steps and thats why she was hiding.

  • Appearances can be deceiving! She didnt have to do any heavy lifting it was just the head. I think its interesting that most people refuse to think of her as a suspect just because of her looks.

  • That is not the case with beauty ...beauty finds that very demeaning and would never do that..

As I'm reading the fable books ...beast worries about beauty for one reason , you can look her up on fables wiki ( because I don't want to spoil anything for reads or the game) but what I'm assuming us she was waiting for the person to leave the head ..

Because beast says something along the lines of "not again" I recall...I'm assuming by the trailer that she's looking into it as well...she hates men that mistreat women...

I refuse to think of her as the murderer because for head-cutting you'd need to do work and Beauty doesn't seem like the type who likes to do physical labour. Maybe it's just my experience with posh gals, but I stand by my interpretation.

EDIT: Bigby would've smelled the head if it was put somewhere close by. He is a wolf, after all.

I've read it up and I know what you mean. But this means that Beauty somehow got word from the murder. But how?

  • some experience with head cutting too sounds like? :P

  • It was a possible theory. But I read some background info on Beauty and now I find it a bit unlikely. As Luminous.Bukowski put it right, she would have tried to rather stop the murder instead of committing it.

  • I personally don't see her as a suspect, but I do believe she knows some information relevant to the murders.

  • Does anyone else think the murder took place in Lawrence's apartment?

  • I didn't do it, you didn't see me do it, you can't prove that I did it.

  • It's rather amusing reading the comments with Mr. Toad's voice. :D

As for the original question; I believe she'll have some sort of involvement with the 'Pimp' in Episode 2.

My guess is a job, waiting tables perhaps. She doesn't want to admit she's working somewhere to Beast because he has so many jobs and perhaps fears that her working too would emasculate him.

    edit,

Someone mentioned how they seen her in the brothel in the teasers at the end of the first episode, my guess is serving drinks for Georgie's club.

  • Also she could be working for someone under the table. Investigation or what not. I doubt Bigby is the only one in the know how.

  • A clever thought there friend, but I believe she is doing something unfaithful or illegal to not tell her own partner. I think maybe she's working for this pimp character or doing something out of the norm.
    Any follow up?

  • I have a different theory:

I think Faith was friend of Beauty. And Beauty wanted to meet her. Or, she learned that Faith is missing(but not dead), and go to her pimp. Just a theory, but it has got more logic than Stripper/Working Woman theory.

  • Again, I heard Mr. Toad reading that comment...

  • Yah, I think she's doing prostitution :-P

On an off-topic note doesn't Beauty have Clementine's voice actress? I could swear she sounded almost identical to Clem in TWD S2.

  • Haha it's true they do sound very similar, but the voice actress of Faith is Cia Court, where Melissa Hutchison is the voice actress of Clementine.

  • I just assumed that she is working as an undercover cop or something since in the Episode 3 picture it looks like her in the outfit. And she might've known about something about Faith so she waited for her to come and she is hiding from Beast so he doesn't know she is doing something as dangerous as that.

  • Well, Bigby knows and orders all agents of Fabletown. Witches have own intelligence sources. So I dont think that she is a kind of agent.

  • I was beginning to think that she could be some sort of under cover when/cop. It seems possible, it would give a rational explanation to why she was hiding inside the shrubs?

  • In the books beauty would only kill men that abuse women

That's why I think she's was waiting maybe she already knows about this...she doesn't work at the club but I'm assuming she wouldn't like what's going on ..
