Telltale Games;"Alright guys, we dont have a fucking clue when this game is going to be out...But just you wait! This Christmas, we'll have an update for you!"
I was expecting a release date soon for the next episode but with every day the flames of hope grow lesser and lesser with each passing day. Soon the seasons will change and the years will pass and what has transpired here today will be forgotten, all but those who had staked out patiently and waited to be graced upon by some sort of update on the release of a episode that would be embraced like a long-lost relative, but then quickly scorned once more. And as my children and my children's children grow older they will ask 'why does grandpa have that sad look upon his eyes?'. But I will not answer, no I will never answer for the sake that such an infliction that has been wrought upon me would never bruise their delicate lives like a dropped piece of fruit. So the secret shall remain, until one cold winter's day I shall lay in my bed and finally blurt out the cause of my dismay before my passing. But it will have been so long that it will only cause my family confusion, what could our patriarch possibly have been talking about? What was so bad that his dying breath was spent yelling of a Telltale wolf that never comes twice? And so the stain shall continue on, generation after generation trying to solve the puzzle of telltale wolf...
Then one day far into the the future my descendant shall stumble upon this, and find that finally a second episode of The Wolf Among Us has been released. They will play it, and fall in love with it like their ancestor had so long ago... but thankfully for them, or so they think, there's an announcement right now that soon... soon there would be an episode three. And thus the cycle begins anew.
Curse you Telltale! Curse the inevitable pox that you have brought upon our houses!
This is a complete joke, i won't buy any more Season pass from Telltale, I'm really worried when i see them with so many new projects (Borderlands, Game Of Thrones) while they can't even handle 2 projects at once ...
I hope they have a team for each game, because we'll have one episode every year otherwise
But if it was only that, ok, but they are not giving any informations, and as customers, we deserve at least to know when can we expect the release of the product we bought if it has been delayed.
True. Now i wonder are they really that stupid? They see what is going on around thier fan base. Or they are coming up with something that will blew our minds.
It's been brought to my attention that this thread doesn't show up on the main forum page when it's stickied. That's not due to any nefarious reasons, it's just a bug in the forum software.
Since this topic is so active, I've de-stickied it so that more people can see it (that's the only way for the topic to show up in the main forum page until the Telltale web team fixes the issue). Hopefully that will allow people to see this thread more clearly. Every user should be able to come here and vent about the wait for episode 2 if they so wish, as that's one of the primary purposes of the release date discussion threads.
Telltale, I am f--king done. I am not spending another cent on any of your games. This is just f--king pathetic, and there is absolutely no excuse for it. I'm not asking anymore, I am demanding a response. Do you even have a PR department?
''Thank you for being so patient, we expect an update about an update on the ETA's expected update to come soon, sometime after an unspecified day.''
And so it goes.
''convince yourselves that the release date is March 31 and set your minds at ease.''
And so it goes.
''It's getting to the point to where i wont buy anymore games from this company again. I just don't understand this silence crap.''
And so it goes.
''very disappointed of you Telltale''
And so it goes, and so it goes, and so it goes.
And so it goes, goes, goes, goes, goes, goes, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock. And soon enough, Telltale no longer depends on us the fans, but we the fans depend on Telltale. We are slaves of their schedule, worshippers of the Telltale's blog posts, bound into a life of ambivalent updates because the company will not function unless we keep the fans in the dark!
Except that most of chapter 2 was already developed as you can see on the 'next time on wolf among us' section at the end of the game. Most of the voices, animations, and plot are already developed, just not implemented.
Game development is a lengthy process: stories have to be written and revised, actors have to be cast, characters have to be designed, and so … moreon.
We just heard of GoT and "Tales from Borderlands" since the announcement. But they are surley working on 4 titles for a long time now. And they surley have their team scaled properly since the beginning of the development.
That said I don't think that the work on 4 titles at the same time, is the main problem here.
And so it goes.

Summer ends on September 21st in the Northern Hemisphere
Look, I get that you're trying hard to defend TellTale, here, but that's some pretty intense weasel language. The game came out on October 11th, and you're saying that if they release the last episode by Sept 21, 2014, then they'll have kept their promises. While this may technically be true, it's still dishonest. "Episodes release approximately every three months until complete" would have set consumer expectations well, if that was what they wanted to communicate. "Final episode released no later than Sept. 21st, 2014" would also have been very clear. But using a word like "Summer" to make people think of June and July, while planning for late September? Not cool.
Summer ends on September 21st in the Northern Hemisphere, which is where Telltale is located. That's certainly an achievable goal. If episode… more 2 is released this month, that would give them more than 2 months per episode to release the remaining episodes. It's very likely they'll meet that goal judging by their past development history (since, with each season that had a long development period for episode 2, after the second episode had changes made based on fan and critic feedback, each remaining episode was released at a quicker time frame). It's very likely that the remaining episodes will release at around two month intervals (or perhaps even less).
And so it goes.

Documented Fact: Microsoft usually makes publishers sign agreements to release on XBox first, or simultaneous XBox release with some other platforms. Can't have XBox getting the game later than anyone else, though.
Likelihood: TellTale doesn't have enough clout to get out of that.
Hypothetical scenario: The XBox port is buggy, and Microsoft's refusing to certify it.
Thing they'll never say: "Sorry, guys, but we think it's good enough to put it up there, and we'll get a patch done in about 10 days, but Microsoft says no. So, even though the other platforms are all good to go, no one can have it until the XBox one gets a go-ahead."
(I'm not trying to hate on XBox; swap in PS3/Sony and it still works, I think.)
A update should be "We are taking this extra time with TWAU because ..........". (Fill in blank)
If they would do that then we would now why we are sitting here waiting.
Apparently the Ticktockman reference flew over your head. Go get yourself some Harlan Ellison to tide you over until the 2nd episode. Trust me, it's well worth the money.

@Puzzlebox has given two updates since January.....they have never given a dead on release date since I can remember. You won't get one petition or no.
Now that Harlan Ellison has been brought up, I recommend you read "I have no mouth and I must scream", a short science fiction horror story. I know this isn't relevant in anyway, but I'll take any chance I can get recommending people to read that story.

This is beyond a joke from the it will be 4 months since the realse of episode one on the 16th of January and apart from a couple of screen shoots and no announcement im starting to get frustrated with the long wait and now its after the holidays

You're right for TWAU and other current projects, but our hope is to influence the way they plan future projects. "The fans tore us a new one over that fiasco, and it'll hurt us if we let it happen again" is a thing we want mentioned in their meetings.

Five months later
Telltale: We better finish Wolf Among Us Ep2 and Ep2 of TWD, but we don't have our fanbase anymore...when will we get them back?
soon.
i've sittin at this thread for quite a while (been here since 5th page) , and have to admit - over a half of ragin' posts here are bull*hit .
"No fanbase" they say, "we'll not buyin' anymore games by TTG". Bleh, what the hell? Are you a bunch of spoiled brats (obviously it's true)? Go to work or read some books, Calm down, folks, TWAU isn't some kind of relic!
p.s. oh, and Fables comic series is great!
p.p.s. but getting this comics in East Europe sure is troublesome.

For the record, I really like your forum software. I'm used to phpBB stuff, and this is a pleasant change of pace. Bugs happen when you're trying to move the ball forward. Just part of the process.

This just doesn't make sense anymore.
Yes. But it used to be hype. Now it's just hope.

Bigby has been gone for three months. All the inhabitants of Fable Town must surely all have been killed by the murderer by now.

As much as I agree, there's no reason to insult other people's fan art.

No more buying unfinished products for me. It's my first purchase from TTG and it's gone so poorly.
but but but..... it is retarded looking....
that was the best thing that has happened to me today.

What's your definition of an update dude? I don't consider common knowledge an update. Just sayin.
Telltale should release a formal statement acknowledging the delay and apologising for it... they won't but they should.
