  • It's best if they can listen to the reading of it by the author himself. I think it's still on YouTube. Ellison is a really good reader.

Now that Harlan Ellison has been brought up, I recommend you read "I have no mouth and I must scream", a short science fiction horror story. I

  • Is it time that TTG has outgrown the episodic model?

  • Why would we buy games from a company that cannot keep with their release schedule? Seriously, my first purchase from tell tale and this happens. I'm not impressed in the least. Why are we spoiled brats? We paid for the season pass! We deserve our money's worth.

i've sittin at this thread for quite a while (been here since 5th page) , and have to admit - over a half of ragin' posts here are bull*hit

  • Why would they want to do this? It's not likely that they will do so since it allows them to make money as their working on their project. Keeping their fans happy is a goal but their biggest goal is to make money and the quicker, the better. It's a business after all.

Savages? Really? In civil society, you're expected to honor the spirit of your contracts, not just the letter, and we're verbally telling them they haven't. (In case you're not familiar with that idiom, "the letter" of a contract means "the absolute minimum you're allowed to do.") If we slaughter their women and children, I'll withdraw my objection.

As your schedule might not really work out I've got one simple question: can i get my money back?
seriously TWAU will be on Spring and Summer Sale even bevor it's finished.

  • edited January 2014

Yeah, if they really intend to stick to that schedule, and assuming that Ep 2 does come out in January, they'll pretty much have to ensure a release every two months at the most. And that's whilst juggling TWAU, TWD, and all of the new IPs they've announced recently. Seems like a full plate to me ...

Also, that brings up an interesting hypothetical: Valve is usually pretty good about refunding Steam sales if you can provide a reasonable excuse. Maybe folks should ask for a refund and re-buy it when the damned thing goes on sale in a month or so, save a few bucks.

  • No problem. Thanks! :)

Cleaned up your duplicate posts. Don't worry, the "spam" notices don't mean you are in any trouble. I was just cleaning up the thread.

  • I'm starting to get the feeling that WB or Vertigo asked or demanded a change in Chapter Two (or the entire story) that forced TT to comply, but because of disclosure agreements/legal reasons, TT cannot tell fans what the delay is about or even give a new estimated release date.

Hope I'm wrong. It was just something that was brewing in the back of my head.

In the meantime, I'll be here, trying to finish Injustice (just won Scorpion! GRIND TIME!). =)

  • If you contact Steam by email, and have your order confirmation number along with a polite explanation why you want a refund, they'll more than likely give it to you.

One time, I accidentally bought a game not thinking to read whether or not it was for PC or Mac. Well, I bought a PC game, and I have a Mac. I contacted Steam, and they refunded my money within a couple of hours.

  • You know, this wait really has been a bit annoying, but the silence makes it much worse. I think we should just wait and see what happens. If we seriously don't hear anything by the end of the month, then that's a problem. Looking at Telltale's history of episodic releases, it seems fair to wait about two months. Waiting three months without saying much is bad. Granted, there was the holiday break, so I can be patient and understanding. If I honestly have to wait a fourth month with silence, then I am going to have a problem.
For most of us, we are upset because of how much love and hype we have felt for this game, and the silence is almost coming off as a betrayal. I don't believe that is the case, but that is how it feels. I am sure there is some explanation. Gotta give these guys the benefit of the doubt. Only feels right.

  • I agree with you man its not fair at all! When they ended the first episode i was like hoping out of my seat and when i watched the scenes from the next episode!!! I was screaming i want to know who clementine sees again I was racing all kinds of hell!! It sucks that they havent even gaven us a teaser or anything no hint at all but im with you man!

  • Uh... This is talking about The Wolf Among Us, not The Walking Dead Season 2. I would expect a month at most for that one. If they follow the FAQ, you should have it by the end of the month.
Just so you know, it's been three months since Episode 1 of TWAU while it's only been about three weeks since TWD released its first episode. Bit of a difference there, bro.

  • I don't mind the wait, it sucks but I can deal. Even though I paid for the season pass, I don't regret my purchase but feel for and understand why others do. That being said, I don't understand what's so hard about saying, "hey guys, sorry for the delay but were still working on the game". Even the vaguest update or reason would be comforting. At this point, they could've dropped the game for all we know, because we know nothing. That's just not okay to do to paying customers.

At this rate, I'm expecting to see Kenny alive (TWD) before we ever see Bigby again :(

Maybe we need Kenny fans to start a #teambigby push and post endless "Bigby confirmed for 2014" gifs until TTG's buckles to the power of the godly 'stache....

Be afraid, TTG..... be very afraid. Once the "X confirmed..." gifs start, they cannot be stopped!

I sort of agree with what you are saying but i think most people are more angry that Telltale are keeping quiet about the delay rather than the delay itself, If Telltale where honest and said "we found a major bug so it could take another week or two to fix" i think people would be more accepting and there would be less rage.

its really funny. all you guys starting to say "i will never buy a game from you again bla bla". what exactly do you think you will achieve with such statements? do you really think the game gets released faster that way? i don't understand your intention. because let's all be honest: you don't mean it. of course you don't. if telltale makes a really good game, you will probably buy it. and you definitely won't say to yourself "oh, there was this twau episode back in 2014 that got delayed by some weeks, so i won't buy this super awesome new game now!" sorry, i don't buy it. whenever people complain about a publisher/developer on the internet, they start to say that they won't buy any more games from them. but in reality, they are just angry and don't know how else to put pressure on the developer or whatever.

i can understand your frustration, but only to a certain degree. yes, the game is great and i want to play ep2 aswell. but seriously, don't you have other games to play? the episode is delayed, so what? i have more games than i have time. yes, if i had the choice i would say, let me play the game right now. but i don't so i just play something else until it's out, and don't waste my time spamming the telltale forum (well, except this single post ^^). really, guys, calm down a bit and don't get mad. the game will be continued eventually, and it will most likely be great. so just enjoy your time until then in another way. it's not that hard. ;)

They might not be planning for late September, I was just pointing out that Telltale stated the game would release "until summer 2014", and summer ends on September 21st.

I'd prefer if they released it before September just like everybody else. As I said, I can see them releasing the remaining episodes of the game in two month intervals or less (since, judging by Telltale's development history, the remaining episodes release in a quicker fashion after the changes based on fan and critic feedback are made in episode 2). If they release episode 2 this month, and release the rest of the game in two month intervals, the final episode would be here in July.

It's not like a AAA game where a delay is expected and kinda good, if huge delays were to occur it would be with episode 1, which there were.

Telltale's development cycle can't be compared to a standard game release, since Telltale's episodic model allows them to develop their games in real time as each episode is released (that's why, even though they use the television show format as a basis for their episodic releases, they can't release it rapidly like a television show, since most television shows record their episodes in advance, and those that don't have a limited budget or are mostly unscripted). This gives them the benefit of making changes based on fan and critic feedback, and the second episode is the one that gets the most changes since there are a lot of things fans and critics hoped would be (or wouldn't be) in the premiere that Telltale feels are achievable goals to add in (for example: refining the gameplay of The Walking Dead by adding direct controlled action sequences, and in Bone, they changed the mini games to a boss puzzle system and added dialog that fit in the universe but was not in the source material). This does make the season better, as the changes are in line with fan desires. The good thing though is that once the improvements are made, the remaining episodes are released in a quicker fashion.

Jennifer I was agreeing with you until you said this was completely expected. Not really, Telltale typically does take time between their firs
