Season 2 launches as blank window
Hey,
I've tried removing the game from Steam (deleting local content), restarted my computer but still no solution. When I launch the game, I hear the music but don't get any video output. Here's a screenshot (thru VNC, but trust me the video output to the TV is identical) http://i.imgur.com/47YsfmM.png You can see, it opens a window over my desktop but I get no video - like, that window remains white while the music plays.
I have licensed copies of TWD-S1 and TWAU on Steam and they launch just fine, no issues whatsoever. TWD-S2 always launches a blank window though, making it impossible for me to play.
Don't know what it could be! All of my drivers are up to date and I'm running the latest version of Windows 8, all up to date there too. All other games run just fine, haven't had a single issue with this machine or this install.
Fix this, please? I really would like to play this game.

Please try if pressing Alt-Enter during that screen helps.
Otherwise please follow the instructions to run the TWD Support Tool and post the download link to the resulting "TWD_support_data_pc.zip" or "TWD_support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.
Alt-Enter does make the game actually appear, albeit in a window! It's when it tries to go full-screen that the issue occurs. Thanks for that, don't know why I didn't try it before posting. Still, this does not resolve the issue in general. Although now I can get into the game and change settings, it doesn't explain why the window was failing to draw or get set up properly by default.

Did you try setting the in game graphics settings to your displays native resolution?
Strangely the support tool missed to include the system information, which is the essential part in this case.
Please post your dxdiag info.
dxdiag
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it, and upload it to an instant filehoster and post the download link.
Yes, after accessing the resolution setting in windowed mode and saving my changes, things worked fine. The game now starts properly. By default, it did not. The suggestion to alt-enter was helpful, thank you, in windowed mode I was able to get to the settings menu and select the proper resolution for full-screen and all is well.
There may be an issue with the software that determines the default settings. Strange, because there is nothing peculiar about my setup - simple 720p over HDMI on an AMD card.
Threw up the dxdiag on pastebin for ya: http://pastebin.com/TgWQefqJ
Anyhow, who knows, maybe I just got unlucky and hit some really weird edge case.
