Telltale, you SOB.

Look what I found:

According to the info here, this episode was classified on the 9th of January. That means that they have finished Smoke and Mirrors. Since the game has been classified, that means that it is finished. If it is finished, after a 4+ month wait, you are going to make your fans wait EVEN LONGER than we already have? The only reason I can think of at the moment as to why it hasn't been released yet is because in some regions it hasn't been classified yet, but I bet that is not it. Strangely, I don't think Telltale would put it up for classification in Australia but ignore every other country.

  • Yes please release episode 2 telltale thanks XD

  • To be fair, when they were working on TWD, they had already finished episode 3 and working on episode 4, but when they finished episode 4, almost everyone (beta testing) with the Ben choice saved him, so they completely re-did Ben's actions in Ep. 4 to make him more dislikeable.

  • This could easily fall under those "specific and unusual" circumstances they mentioned. But then again, who knows?

  • Does that mean it was classified for the rest of the world as well?

  • Pretty much, there is no legitimate reason to send the game to Australia for classification first (as far as I'm aware, anyway).

  • Thing is though, it was reviewed 8 days ago. Meaning that they've finished it, and it's ready for release. They have 0 reason to delay the release further, unless in some countries it has not been classified yet (which is extremely unlikely considering, well, 8 days :P)

  • No, but perhaps countries have different timetables for classification?

Not exactly. To expedite the release process for an episode, we often send an unfinished version of it to ratings bodies. As long as all the blood and gore and language and stuff is already in there, it's enough for them to give a rating without the product actually being ready for release.

Given that this discussion seems to be based on a misconception, I'm going to go ahead and close it. You're more than welcome to continue discussion of the imminent episode 2 release in the existing thread here. Thanks!
