Anyone else not happy with the choice of the killer? (EP2 Ending Spoilers)

edited February 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

When Bigby pulls out the picture of Crane leaning over the corpse it was a bit of an anticlimax for me.

I mean seriously, you can pretty much empathize with any character but Crane who is too black and white to be liked. Why make him the killer and not someone who you'd never expect it off?

So I have a theory to add some depth:
It's another ruse by Telltale to deceive us, just like the faked death of Snow and the real killer is using a glamour making him look like Ichabod (remember the scene with Crane in the car and his black market glamour?).

Wouldn't Beauty recognize him when he was with both Lily and Faith? Just saying it doesn't make any sense. Everybody in town probably knows Crane, he cannot be unnoticed unless: glamour.

Feel free to say if I missed something.

  • That was kind of what I thought aswell after the end of the episode, I wonder why Crane had that glamour box in the preview of episode 3, I really do believe later on it will be revealed someone else entirely was behind the whole thing.

  • Yeah you got it. Just feeling it is a little to early for them to show us who it is. Most "bad" guys are pretty okay. I actually liked the Woodsman at the end of the first episode.

  • Well, Crane is a creep in comics (more than once with Snow) so I believe that was really him in the photo. But I don't believe that he is the killer.

  • Yeah if it turns out to be him, then I feel it's way to early, but if they do it the right way maybe it turns out good anyhow even though they reveal the killer not even halfway through.

  • Crane can't be the killer anyways, because the game is a prequel.

  • It dosnt say at the end that he's the killer just that he is a creep. If anything it means he's not the killer

  • Oh, I haven't really followed any of the comics, so I wouldn't know. But then that would confirm that the real killer is yet to be revealed atleast.

  • Sorry if I spoiled anything for you, I should have put it in spoilers. :(

  • oh, no I don't think you did haha, if anything you maybe just confirmed my thoughts atleast that he was not the real killer :)

Are people still seriously falling to this plot device? Crane is not the killer over 99% likely because it would be way too obvious.

Then there is that glamour spell that would make someone easily to disguise as Crane and take a picture.

  • Crane wasn't with a corpse in the photo, he was with Lily in one of their previous roleplay sessions. all the pictures prove is that he's a creepy pervert stalker.

  • Maybe we have seen the murderer several times, but they were using glamour. If that is the case, the murderer could be anyone and appear as anyone.

Yeah, it is too obvious for it to actually be Crane, especially when it is posed as a cliffhanger like that. I say that because we were left with a cliffhanger of Snow dead, and she jumped back in the story not long into the next episode. If they resolved that cliffhanger so quickly, I think it will be the same way with Crane, especially since the Crane "evidence" is not surprising or convincing.

  • Crane is a creep and Stalker, but that doesn't mean he's the Killer. You are the one jumping the gun there.

And of course Beauty wouldn't see, her doesn't even open his room

  • The comics established that Crane gets kicked out of Fable town, so that is in fact Crane and not someone posing as him.Crane is a creep and a Stalker, what we don't know is if he's the killer and he probably isn't.

So no, that Ian's someone glamoured as Crane, that is the Real Crane.

  • Except that really is Crane and it is confirmed by the events in the comics. He is indeed a stalker. That said he probably isn't the killer, but the killer most likely knew of Crane's Snow White fetish.

  • But the comics do establish that he leaves Fabletown, this scandal is probably the reason why.

  • I don't think Crane is the killer. I think that he WAS sleeping with a Snow-glamoured Lily, but that that is all he's guilty of. Someone else killed Lily, I think. Crane is an asshole and a pervert, but he's no murderer.
