It's funny because in the comics it is said that Ichabod was fired from being deputy mayor because of sexual harassing Snow White and then left Fabletown because he was too humiliated to stay. But it never said anything about him killing anyone so maybe hes not the killer.
The photo is incriminating, so is what we find out in issue 22. I think that the mirror will be fixed as it is hard to but will happen. It would lead Bigby to suspect treason. Which leads him to ask Cinderella for help. And ultimately issue 22. That is the only way it can happen if Crane is the killer.

I kinda wish this was some alternate timeline from the comics. it would be more of a mystery. I've never read the comics, but I hear a lot of "no that can't happen because ... comics.. etc". I know, I'm probably crazy for mentioning it

Ok seriously. Are you psychology student or something? Diagnosing Crane like this hehe. You might be right but I think you're reading way too deep into this haha. But I guess we'll find out in the coming episodes what is true.

Ichabod shows up in the comics, all he was accused of/ran away from was Snow claiming sexual harrassment because he tried to kiss her or something. If he was involved in the killing he would have mentioned that.
So Dee somehow managed to be released, make his way to the Trip Trap, tell the people at the Trip Trap about the dead Snow White, and leave, all in the meantime that Snow and Bigby were making their way to the Trip Trap themselves?
Also,
"Why would Crane release someone who clearly had something to do with the murders. You literally have to replay episode 2."
Crane released Bigby, so that must mean that he too has something to do with the murders as well.
Crane didn't want you to interrogate Dee in the first place. "Well I don't know why you detained him". You have to replay episode 2 if you forgot that line. Also Crane said "Well that took longer than expected." As well as saying "What did you say!" when Dee says "I don't know it was some dumb thing my boss was after".

Oh also it doesn't save when you tear off his arm but it saves before it so you can always reply the bar part, rip off his arm, gain the fable entry and then exit. It's what I did.
Yes I saw that! Also if you pick the Woodsman to interrogate, then you can see Dee inspecting what looks like Bigby's fridge.
So I think they're linked by Crane is employing the tweedles or the tweedles boss has dirt on Crane, so he has to let them free?
Anyone notice how Tweedle Dum was in Crane's car after looking into the magic mirror during episode 2?
And then during the preview for Epis… moreode 3, "Crane" is seen driving off in the same car, with what seems to be another glamour spell container.
Could these two be linked in together in any way?
A little bump to get the topic more current. If you guys have anything to add whether it be more information, alternate theories or even a different suspect please post your ideas.
Interesting conclusion! I didn't suspect that, but maybe it's because I'm not thinking out of the box enough. I do know a little more on how he is fired through reading the comics, so I'll put a spoiler on, but in the comics he was fired for stealing treasury money while the mayor was away and for sexually assaulting Snow White (it doesn't show him do the act, but Cinderella is the one narrating that particular issue when introducing him as a character.)
It's a very nice and well thought theory but having read the comics I don't think it fits Crane's personality.I think that involving the headless horseman would be too easy, the killer must be someone that we don't know or expect.
Okay, I've been thinking about this for awhile and was just waiting for more people to post.
Coming off of our strongest evidence towards the killer, the testimony of Toad Junior. When asking him questions about the dead body he claims to of heard someone saying, "stop laughing at me". If you ask the right questions TJ will attest to not hearing any laughing.
This reinforces the idea of a schizophrenic killer. However there are other schizo fairy tails throughout history.
Even if it isn't Crane, there are others that can fit the same mental evaluation. One such fairy tail that comes to mind is Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde. Another character with mental problems.
At first I thought this theory was bit far-fetched when I started reading, but what turned that around for me was when you mentioned the "Stop Laughing" incident from TJ. That actually made a ton of sense. That does seem like a viable path that Telltale might take
I haven't taken the time to read all the responses, but this might be the most fascinating, logical, and comprehensive breakdown of what very likely could be the explanation behind Crane's actions. Really brilliant read. I'm curious though if Telltale will follow through with a theory like this, especially since it would fall dangerously close to a plot Bill Willingham used in his 'Fables' comic. We know The Wolf Among Us went through a pretty massive rewrite post "Faith" (if rumors are to be believed) in order to fix such a situation, so I'm curious if they might, nonetheless, have the story reflect this breakdown/theory.
One thing about the Room 207 scene that does not make sense. They found the picture with Crane putting his head up Lily's dress. The dress from the picture and the one in the closet are the same. The closet dress looked to me like it was ripped. But there was no blood on the dress. So is it that she was killed after taking off the dress? Especially if Beauty did not hear anything there was not a struggle. I don't know. I do think Crane did not kill her. He was either put into a spell or someone glamoured themself as Crane.
Wasn't it revealed that the Headless Horseman was a prank played on him in the comics? Isn't it also speculated in the original tale that his rival, Abraham Van Brunt, pulled the prank on him? Your theory is interesting but I doubt it's Crane.

Such intelligence so theory much interesting wow

It would suck because if Crane is the killer we will never capture him in the game because he was not imprisoned in the comics.
Remember also that issue 22 was from Cindy's perspective up until she leaves Bigby and Crane alone. We might get Bigby's perspective is what I meant.
I kinda wish this was some alternate timeline from the comics. it would be more of a mystery. I've never read the comics, but I hear a lot of "no that can't happen because ... comics.. etc". I know, I'm probably crazy for mentioning it
And there are people who read the comics and forget that the timeline is based on the real world timeline.

So wait does that mean we may get a chance too smash Crane's head in with a statue like Bigby did in the comics?
I know what you mean i actually started a thread about that:

You're never too old to have the hots for a hot woman.
Oh great, just great. Now we're going to have to wait until 2016 while Telltale rewrites the entire series because you figured it out.
I think it will be up until that point. The game will do the smashing.

So... we're looking at a Norman Bates situation then?

Really. Leave that to Wolfy.
Didn't think of that ! Yeah it could be
Can't get that Ichabod's and Snow picture outta my head. It's disturbing.
HE is disturbing. DAYUM

Thank you for the compliments. I was hoping for a deeper and more complex storyline like this over a standard cop vs murderer tale.
Selfie !
Haha.

Considering he didn't have a "headless horseman" personality in the comics, i doubt this is the case.
