The Woodsman's character
During the interrogation, the Woodsman says that he had been a regular client of Lily and that she would give him a freebie when he has no money. He also goes to Holly's bar frequently so he must have known about her making a report to the Fables authorities about Lily being missing weeks before. And we know through his confession that he was supposed to meet Lily on the night Faith was murdered.
In other words, the Woodsman knows that Holly was worried sick about Lily being missing but doesn't tell her where her sister is just so that he could get laid, sometimes for free? And that this has been going on for weeks since Holly reported Lily missing?
Is this the correct picture we are supposed to draw of the Woodsman? Not only is he a drunk, he's also violent towards women and callous to Holly by feigning ignorance about Lily's whereabouts?
I think the Woodsman is worse than Crane (assuming Crane only fetishises Snow and is not a murderer).

Yeah, I think so. I'm kind of ticked that TTG ripped off my personality and didn't give me royalties-- I mean... no, wait. Oh, look! A giraffe! Over there!

Oh shit! Someone get this city bandit!
You'll never catch me, copper! Buwahahaha!
~Falls through an open manhole cover~ Ack! ~Sploosh!~
We got the suspect the only problem now is how we gonna take him of the sewers. Other cop- uh wanna leave him there and get some coffe. Me- sure, lets go. Leaves you screaming for help in the sewers.
Woody is an alcoholic, he prefers having sex with Holly's sister, doesn't want Holly to know how he feels about her sister, gets violent when he doesn't get what he wants.. That is a more realistic version of Woody.
~Not screaming for help at all~
Whoa, I just stumbled upon a river of Snickers Bars! What kind of sorcery is this?! I'll never go hungry again!
~Om nom nom~
Perhaps Woody had feelings for Lily...or Lily specifically didn't want Woody to mention that they were hooking up, to avoid her sister. There is also the possibility that they were hiding something relevant to the investigation.
I assume Woody hadn't seen Lily in a while. She was meant to turn up the day before she died, but Faith took her place.
After that conversation in the bar at the end of Ep. 1 I feel sorta bad for Woody. Yes, he is a terrible person, and I don't trust him. But that chat at the bar showed him as just a man down on his luck, falling from his former glory & having to cope with it. He's a beaten man, once a hero revealed a villain. I agree he doesn't handle it all the best way, but I have pity for him.
