Significance of the Ribbon?
I don't know of anybody has read this story but, there's this story I read as a kid about a girl named Jane. She always wore a ribbon around her neck. Even when she got married to her husband, she would never tell him why she always wore that ribbon. Long story short, on her deathbed her husband asked about her ribbon again and she told him to untie it, and once he untied the ribbon, her head fell off.
I'm not sure if Faith is supposed to be this character as I've never read any of the comics, they just seem very similar to me. Also when Bigby asked Faith about what happened, she obviously couldn't tell him because of the whole "my lips are sealed thing" but instead she changed the subject to the ribbon.
It seems odd that she would bring it up for no reason, unless she was trying to hint at something. Also when Bigby found her head, her ribbon was stuffed in her mouth. Anyway, just thought I'd share this because I haven't seen the ribbon being mentioned a lot.

If only the ribbon in TWAU was yellow, this could be almost surely confirmed.
Regardless, I don't think that the whole ribbon stuffing into the beheaded girl's mouth was done just for a little easter egg reference.
Nice! I do recall that story, but I don't believe that Faith is supposed to be both that character and Donkeyskin Girl. It may have been some inspiration to the plot though! I couldn't help but wonder if perhaps the ribbon was just a prized possession or even one from childhood representing lost innocence?
@dubesor That's true but I still can't help but think that there's something more to the ribbon because the two stories share so many similarities.
@Profanity In the version of the story I read, the ribbon was green but I don't think the color of the ribbon matters much anyway.
@Rip I have never even heard of the Donkeyskin Girl before this game. I guess she can't be both characters but maybe the ribbon story did inspire the plot a little, like you said.
I am most certain it is. The same girl, although they could be different people but the girl with the ribbon is the head on the floor without doubt IMO. If ou forget about Snow White, also notice I this is the same girl from legend, she's lost her head once and survived if she's a living fable. The other thing I noticed is the ribbon is in her mouth, I'm wondering if she planned on killing herself or faking her own death hence the I'm sorry letter to her husband. Just some hair brained conspiracy theries.

But what about Snow? she didn't have any ribbon! I think the ring is more important than the ribbon.
I made a connection to Faith and the "Girl with the green ribbon around her neck" story, too. I dismissed it after Snow's head appeared. However, now that we see that it was not Snow, but a girl from the club (where all the girls wear ribbons around their necks), I think that the theory is stronger than ever.
All the girls in the club wear ribbons around their necks. This could be some kind of spell that is put on the girls. They are decapitated, and the magic ribbons are put around their necks, which would discourage them from leaving. Maybe Faith tried to leave, so they took her ribbon off.
This idea of magic would also compliment the idea that they can't speak about certain things because of some sort of magic ("My lips are sealed"). This is supported by the girl that Wolf sees in the club who can't physically talk about anything (Just says "my lips are sealed"), but gives him clues by giving him a key to the hotel room next door. Maybe Faith wasn't trying to change topics when she was talking to Wolf and mentioned the ribbon. Maybe it was a cry for help, "Hey, I can't talk about it because there is a spell over me, also like with this ribbon."
My theory keeps developing as more clues are revealed. The girl with the ribbon story doesn't mention a "bad guy" however, so I have no theory about who that might be. Also, I wonder when Beauty is going to show up again.
if you play part two you will find out that was actually a prostitute not snow white and all the prostitutes wear ribbons. my theroy is that if they reveal anthing about their buissness or employer the ribbon will cut off their head "my lips are sealed" they wont talk to bigby because they cant doing so would kill them. bigby also remarks wen examining faiths wound that it was done by somthing " eather really sharp or with magic". i think the ribbon is the safguard against the prostitutes telling bigby somthing important (sorry about bad grammar. dislyexia)
I recently remembered the part where Snow goes to the Farm and later in the arc she finds Wayland Smith and he is chained and the chains have a spell wich keeps him from asking for help and trying to escape, i think the spell is the same with some modifications just a theory.

It's amazing how much clearer everything becomes once you start reading the comics. Definitely recommend that everyone who hasn't done so till now start reading them ASAP.
I don't think it's "lost innocence" since all the call girls are seen wearing the ribbon.
That's the interesting part, it was Holly's sister a prostitute. And the prostitutes also had the ribbon. So this theory is more than interesting and fitting.

Interesting connection. I've heard that story before, but I never really thought of it when playing the game. It's definitely a possibility. Someone else was asking about it too on the forum and I'll copy and paste what I responded with. I didn't really think of it as being that deep of a connection, but I could totally be wrong because like you said, why would they stuff it in her mouth? That definitely gives the ribbon more significance. Anyways, here's what I wrote on the other thread:
"I think it might be some kind of signal for potential customers, that they're prostitutes and they work for the Pudding and Pie. When Bigby talks to Faith outside of Toad's apartments she asks "Do you like my ribbon?" and depending on what you respond with (I think if you tell her to stop changing the subject), she says something along the lines of "I'm telling you the only way I can" (NOT a direct quote). I remember thinking later on that she was trying to tell Bigby that she works for Georgie Porgie with out "unsealing" her "lips"."
