'Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition' Available Starting October 13th

Great Scott! This year marks the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future, one of the most beloved movies of all time. To celebrate the occasion, Telltale Games is releasing Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition!

Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition features textures that take full advantage of current-generation console capabilities, and updated voice work from Biff Tannen's original movie actor, Tom Wilson. This edition also includes in-game access to new, exclusive content: a behind the scenes video featuring interviews with movie trilogy co-writer and producer Bob Gale, original movie cast member Tom Wilson, members of the development team, and AJ LoCascio - the voice of young Marty McFly.

This special remastered edition will be available digitally worldwide and at retail in North America on Tuesday, October 13th, and available at retail in Europe on Friday, October 16th. Digital and retail platforms in both regions will include PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

In Back to the Future: The Game, six months after the events of Back to the Future Part III, the DeLorean Time Machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley - driverless! Now, Marty must go back to 1931 to recruit the help of a reluctant teenage Emmett Brown in order to save 1985's Doc from certain death. Can they repair the rifts of the past without accidentally erasing the future?

    Yeah, Back to the Future was already a game made by Telltale so the episodes have been done for years.

    Well... disappointed to see that the graphic is just the same of the PC version.
    they could've added ambient occlusion, more post-effects and uncompressed/hires textures.
    Surely a missed opportunity.

    For now, they're only releasing the newer content (better graphics, Tom Wilson voicing Biff, etc) on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Playstation 4. I'm hoping that they expand the software to more platforms, especially considering that the older version was already previously available on most of them:

    • iOS - including iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and the new AppleTV
    • Mac and PC
    • Wii U
    • Playstation 3

    The story is similar to modern Telltale games in that it's an interpersonal drama about moral consequences of time traveling (although obviously much more lighthearted since this is Back to the Future and we're dealing with time-traveling DeLoreans). However, this was originally released in 2010, long before Telltale conceived the choice system which started in Walking Dead. This is one of Telltale's first attempts at making cinematic games, so although there are puzzles similar to other Telltale series released around that time, they are fairly simple and there is a hint system if you are afraid of getting stuck. If you liked the amount of puzzles and hub areas in Walking Dead: Season 1, Back to the Future has a similar amount of puzzles and hub areas.
