  • But....its true, what is DEAD may never DIE, and i don't think they meant "whatever is alive may never live" aswell...

  • In some classy LOTR-like heroic fantasy where common sense is unwelcome Ironborns would look rather awesome, but in ASOIAF universe they are the paramount stupid, even when they grow up far away from home. Take Balon's death, fell from the stupid rope bridge between two towers of his castle because of wind, who the hell even thought of building a castle that way, especially if their Devil specializes on storms and winds?

  • Well many theorize that Euron was the cause of Balon's death, either through a faceless man or some other black magic. Just saying that it might not be a simple fall.

And their society sort of makes sense if you consider where they live: pretty much a bunch of rocks where it's impossible to sow but there are plenty of fish and crab. They used all their wood for ships and needed more, so they started reaving the coastline. Same thing to get food for the winters. Ironically they would eat while the people who grew the crops died or starved.

And they're either descended from the First Men or a race even older than them, so it makes sense that they would be so steeped in ancient culture.

    shrug
