I figured out the twist of Episode 6 which fills in all the plot holes of Episode 5.
The traitor wasn't Duncan or Royland.
The traitor was Ramsey Snow, wearing a Skin-Mask of Duncan/Royland.
It's perfectly in-character for Ramsey.
If you kill the traitor, it wasn't Ramsey Snow but one of his underlings wearing a Skin-Mask of Duncan/Royland.
If you spare the traitor, you later have to release him because it's Ramsey Snow in a Skin-Mask.

Considering how Ramsay is doing the impossible in this game and can teleport through out north in a short time I wouldn't be surprised.
