Multiple installations

edited July 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
I just bought the game and installed it on my 'primary' PC and now I'm wondering if it its possible to install it on a second machine (i.e. notebook) as well in order to play while being en route.

To put it bluntly: how many concurrent installations are covered by the license?

Any official statements welcome.

My first two computers cant handle TOMI so I have to now try and download it a 3rd time, transfer it to my vista laptop (that does not accept my usb modem as there are no drivers grr) and email telltale for a unlock code.

    Joys of PC gaming!

    Hurry up Wiiware!!!!

Why would you have to email Telltale for a code, you should be able to see one in your "my games" section on the Telltale website.

Because the PC he's going to play it on will not accept his modem and therefore has no internet access. He said so right in his post.

Where's the problem in writing down the code while sitting on his other PC with internet access and then entering it on his laptop? :)

Erm... yes... You have a point there... :o

Sorry, I'm tired. I should probably get to bed. I most definitely shouldn't be posting snarky comments on other people's behalf without thinking things through...

The serial numbers and forum accounts are used for the online activation, from what I understand there's a wholly different system for offline activation that requires an e-mail to support. "From what I understand" meaning "I think so, but in no way am I sure".

Anyway, if this follows other Telltale games, you get 20 activations on the outset.

The big question is though, will it run on this?

Waiting for email with unlock code. If this doesnt work will have to wait for Wii release. Guess I'll go back to Monkey 1,2 and 3 until then!

I don't understand... online login asks for your email address and password... surely the product key is what you use for offline activation?

no sadly, you have to send a request code via email (using pc that has internet access)and they then send you a unique unlock code which you have to type in on the pc with no internet access. serial number does not work.

So what's the serial number for, cause I didn't have to enter it at any point?

It used to be needed to discount the DVD to $0.00, but it's automatic now(at least for new series, if SBCG4AP is an indicator).

It was also used for the Season Upgrade, which is now also automatically tied to your account./
