My stepson wanted me to go with Magnus, so I did. I also didn't want to leave Axel with Lukas for certain reasons, and Olivia can bound with him that way too
I really, really , really wanted to get Magnus to blow some stuff up, but something in me told me that we're going to need to build and not destroy to fight the Wither Storm.
Magnus. I feel like he's gonna be a funnier character than Ellegard. That's what I was literally thinking during that scene, that the explosives guy may be funnier. I also wanted to spend more time with Axel as he's my favourite character so far.
Ellegaard looks awesome and I would love to meet her to find out if she is as awesome as she looks. I made a Minecraft skin based on her and I'm using it in the original game and in the windows 10 version (which looks a little bit worse because the googles overlay doesn't display correctly and it looks painted on her face).
But I wouldn't want to leave Axel alone with Lukas.

After picking Ellegard I think it's pretty evident that I made the correct choice.
I thought leaving Axel with Lukas would've been horrible after the incident and that Olivia could bring genius into the fortifications, I also wanted Magnus to 360 blowscope that thing as high as the flying machine lady

That Olivia could bring genius into the fortifications. is actually true, if you leave her behind to help Luke, the temple will look better imo.
If you leave Ax behind, the walls be from moss stone or something; but if you leave Ol behind, the walls be from pillar quartz and redstone block. I really like Ol, she's my second favorite character, so leaving her behind is really sad to me, but I didn't want to leave the two boys together and the temple is now beautiful.

On my first play through I chose Magnus because I thought he could blow the wither storm up, but on my second I chose ellegaard because I wanted to know what happened when you chose her. I like ellegaard and Magnus the same.

If you like to talk to interesting people and catchy music and a nice view- Ellegaard(Redstonia, land of the nerds)

I actually like Magnus a bunch more, his arrogant personality and voice are just so funny and cool.
I just picked Ellegaards armor because I felt sympathetic to her, just because of her soft voice.
Without that voice, I would've destroyed her little ass.

I went with Ellegaard because I really want to see these Redstone creations and I wanted Axel to start bonding with Lukas.
But it was still a really hard choice.
I chose Magnus because I enjoy explosions in minecraft.

I chose Magnus. I thought that the best chance to win is to fight fire with fire, so Magnus the Rogue was for me.
