I wouldn't be suprised if we get something similar to the undersea caverns which connected Dinky and Monkey Island (It even connected to Melee Island!)
So maybe every Island is connected by these tunnels. Maybe the mermaid people or whatever built the tunnels in the first place.
Still, it makes me wonder if JoJo Jr returned the Giant Monkey Robot. Or else there would be a big crater....
I'd rather see new locations than go back to any of the old islands. Not that it would really bother me, I just don't think the series needs it at this point.
I'm certain we'll be returning to Flotsam at some point during the rest of the season.
Also a night time island would be cool.
Is there a rumor starting that there will be an entire episode at sea or underwater? Or is this just a 'what if' & 'how might they do it if' type discussion?
It's "what if" I think, but the speculation in part started since there's not a whole heap of different islands on the map... and also since leviathan=sea monster... kinda makes sense for it to be under water.
You could awlays find another map, maybe one to the location of La Esponge Grande? Or maybe some other location, perhaps Wally could provide a map? It looks like someone was doing some work on maps in that shack from the concept art...
I'm getting off track, you could slap a new map on the Narwhal and viola! New islands to visit. At least, I would hope so...
All this sounds rather good and rather plausible. Unfortunately, by the chapter titles, I really don't see how they could slip a night island in, unless it was a terrifying/funny showdown island in the last chapter (The Rise of a Pirate God).
So does this game mostly involve mythical sea creatures? Should be called Tails of Monkey Island!
I just want a really moody and dark island, like Scabb or Blood Island. Not Melee, 'cause that's just a cozy place to be. And I'd love to see another town where the buildings are old shipwrecks, like on Scabb.
Just to think about it, TellTale can do that cool kind of night scene we've seen in prologue on the ship, and suddenly decides they won't do any night scenes? I think not

I know but think about it:
We've already had some concept art for chapter 2, that clearly defines Spinner Cay (and anywhere else depicted) as daytime places.
Chapter 3: Lair of Leviathan is a battle with an sea monster, probably all underwater.
Chapter 4's title is "The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood", which leads me to believe most (if not all) is shot in the Flotsam courthouse. (oh btw I can really see a return to Flotsam being night, to send the inhabitants we've met indoors and bring other stuff out; that jungle and shack would look fab at night)
Chapter 5: Rise of a Pirate God screams showdown and LeChuck regaining his evil supernatural form, to me. Could well be at sea, at night (a reverse of the opening scene).
But there was the talk of some island hopping in the Siege, so it may be that at least one of those "islands" will have night scenes (keeps fingers crossed)
And besides, the first video materials of Launch were in daytime too, and they managed to change the prologue into the night scene. SO, there's still hope
Edit: I doubt the Trial will take place in courthouse only. That would be deadly boring, to say the least.
Assuming we do return to Flotsam which is very likely, I think it would just make sense to make it night upon the return.
We know TT likes to recycle stuff when they can, but they also know how to dress it up so you're not just going through the same exact environment over again. A night time transition just seems to make sense here.
I also agree that it would make sense if one of the Jerkbait islands is a night scene.
Remember, the first island in Curse had day AND night scenes. [Le Chimp's ship area]

Plunder never had day/night transition. It was just an extreme weather anomaly (actually not unlike Flotsam anomaly), causing the northern side of Plunder (Danjer Cove) to experience overcast, stormy sky and the southern side to get sunshine, with guys at Brimstone Beach and Smorgy lapping up the sun.
Not exactly done to death, as I wouldn't call the amusement park in CMI a revisit to MI. EMI just ruined the whole island though, so if MI looks the same as EMI, I'm not too interested in going there.

If you look on the map while they're sailing, they have those umbrella things that Jambalaya and Booty have.

I really want this to be true but need proof
The best I can find at the moment (Hopefully he's not just referring to the prologue!)

We know the prologue was originally daytime, so they changed it when they realised there was no night scenes!
[/Devil's advocate]

Night islands? Not much scope...
That would be too cruel
