Firstly, im suprised that people need a walkthrough, especially with the built in hint system, and secondly what happened to the days or weeks of slaving over a puzzle. My first adventure game took me 10months to complete.
I called a helpline once....
But I was probably 8 years old

I noticed that the official walkthrough gives away huge chunks of plotline. I didn't like that, perhaps it's just me but I wrote one that doesn't do that. (link in signature!)
