First Jungle Maze

At the maze I have the map, done with it as initially required (will not say what to make a spoiler). But when I try and follow the paths at each intersection according to the sound on the map- but after the third always end up having to restart the maze.

Anything I missed ?

General rule of gaming, save often.

Everytime you enter a correct area, Guybrush will cue you something along the line of "this look promising". If you entered a wrong area, you will hear a stone crumbling noise.

Use that as a guideline. Save everytime you enter a correct new section. That way, it will reduce the amount of frustrations.

Why dont you teach him to do it correctly, instead of just reloading the game if you take a wrong guess? Its a lot more fun and gratifying to complete a puzzle if you know you did it correctly, even if you fail a lot before.

OP: It should work as you explained. You should know that you sometimes simply have to walk back the way you came, depending on
    the sound
. Are you sure you are taking the right path?

When you're at a section of jungle, start walking on a path (but don't so far that you exit the screen!). Listen to the sounds you hear. If it's not a sound that you like, try take a few steps on another path and listen.

There aren't so many possibilities to go further on each place in the jungle. I've made also few mistakes and then you know for sure which is the wrong way. At the end you will walk through the jungle without the need to follow the sounds.

Whichever sound is the loudest as you approach an edge of the screen match it to the corresponding map key direction. As for the wind direction, use the weather vane, and I believe you wait for a strong wind.

Hmm, I seem to be quite dumb as well. I did exactly what the walkthrough sad and as last step keep ending up at D'Oro. Ill try reloading the game since I didnt hear any hints when I moved either.

Edit: well that didnt work either. Anyone with a save past this, had more than enough

Have to ask, are you USING the map on the well first?

If so, are you making sure that there aren't more sounds to follow once you hit D'Oro? I know it does go past him at one point, with more sounds to come.

No worries. Don't take walkthroughs as a given, you tend to forget things if you don't work them out for youself ;)

Actually thats what I did before the walktrough, but in the endless tries and frustration i forgot to repeat the act. Than I looked in the walktrough and completely ignored that part and just went to compare if my directions/notes were the same.

A well, live and learn :)

AAAUUUGGGHHHH! I also keep getting kicked back to the well as I come close to that big disk. No matter what I do, I can't get around it w/o getting sent back. I look at the map to be sure, but I cannot get around the flat disk in the center.

It's beginning to take the fun out of this game. Just venting..darn it! I'll keep trying this over and over and over. Perhaps something new will develop.

Are you sure this is about the first jungle maze? Or are you talking about the second jungle maze?

It's the jungle maze where I use the map on the well and I need to get to X marks the spot. :) I'll figure it out sooner or later, but at least I am not alone in getting this right LOL

    Thanks!

You realise you don't need to go round the calendar 'till the second one yea?

All you do in this one is:
Use the map on the well, then follow the sounds of the jungle according to the map

Ok, I thought you had to go like around the calendar to get to the X. Ok, that's good to know! I am trying to follow the sounds. I will keep on keeping on...so to speak ;)

    Thank you!

Sometime, depending on your personal situation (as the paths to take are random), the correct path it the one you just came from so basically, you have to go back 1 step but has to be considered as 1 step further on the map.

Also if you come twice on same place at 2 different steps and even if the next animal is the same, you don't have necesserly to take the same next path... I guess it's where some people get stuck because they have written down the path to take and simply take the same twice without using the "listen animal sound" stuff.

By the way, don't take it wrong: If you took the wrong path and have to start over from the whell, all the correct path you took till the wrong one remain the same so if you remember them or have written them down, just follow them without guessing the animal sound.

Thanks, Candy! I finally did it a couple of days ago and I am doing fine so far. My next puzzle? I am trapped in the doc's office. Haven't even started yet so we shall see!

    Thanks again!

    "Remember ...X marks the spot!"

Doing this on the Wii-I followed the map correctly-and I get to the X marks the spot area-but it says the treasure is already gone. What am I supposed to do then?
  • edited July 2009
    You need to
burry one yourself there so it can be found by the treasurehunter. You prove to him that the map you got from him indeed leads to a treasure: that one thing he wants to have
