Wait, so who was Gregor's Sentinel?
Assuming he even had one in the first place - but Duncan was Castellan of Ironrath while Ser Royland was Master-at-arms, and neither of them made a case of past experience of serving as Sentinel under Gregor. So where does this Sentinel part of Forrester tradition come in? Is it only a temporary position applied when the House is in great peril? Or are they appointed for a limited duration of time when a new Lord has recently ascended?
Could be that Gregor maybe had a Sentinel in the past, who probably died at some point prior to Season 1 (or maybe at the Twins) and with Gregor the Good's reputation and allies there was just never any immediate need for a replacement?
Seriously, can anyone explain to me how this Sentinel system works exactly?
