Royland respects Duncan.

I've noticed a few lines that indicate that even though Royland doesn't get along with Duncan, he clearly respects him. Though Duncan seems to have a low opinion of Royland. When Royland criticises Duncan for sending Gared to the wall if you say Duncan's a good man, Royland will agree "Aye a fine man, wise even". And in EP2 if Royland's Sentinel he'll say to Duncan "He needed you there" regarding Ethan's death, saying that Ethan needed him by his side, where as Duncan would say "You should've been protecting your lord" basically saying it was his duty. However Duncan seems to have a fairly low opinion of Royland going as far as to tell Ethan that he doesn't trust him.

Anyway I just thought it was interesting that there's a few lines of dialogue indicating that Royland respects Duncan even though he clearly doesn't like him.

Royland can be a hard ass, but he cares for his allies unless he's NOT Sentinel then he's a dumbass traitor.
