Stan (...again)

edited July 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
I just noticed something. When asking D'Oro the Explorer about his Porcelaine Power Pirates, he says the following:

D'Oro: (...) but I got scammed.
Guybrush: Scammed?
D'Oro: Yeah. Some guy in a plaid jacket with waving arms sold me a Ninja Dave map, but it just keeps sending me in circles.

That sounds an awful lot like Stan. Will he probably make an appearance as a treasure map salesman in a later episode? What do you think? :D

I think he's selling fake (or fun) treasure maps. That way he hopes to never see his customers ever again. I wonder why his time sharing stuff didn't work out for him.

Yes, I'm certain he'll show up.

I wanna see Stan's brother, Dan, appear.
  • Hehe, so we'll get to see Stan's previously owned treasure maps? :D

That might explain why the Dark Ninja Dave "Action Figure" had already been dug up  I sure hope he's going to make a return as a Treasure Map Salesman :D

    Dan Hibiki? :D

I want a Stan and Murray "road trip, buddy movie" type spin off game. Murray could follow Stan around by means of "sitting" on a voodoo powered hover frisbee.

I think Stan will be back.

And he'll be selling episodic games.

God, I tried doing Chun Li's trials in SF4 yesterday and I could have strangled that guy several times by now... :D

Randomly, did you notice the bombs were also made by Stan? It only says so when you first pick them up, but they're from one of his businesses!

I think Stan's items on Flotsam were just leftover items from an old business. We'll probably see him doing something totally unrelated later down the line.

He will be selling demonic skulls

Ha, you reminded of something I did as a semi-retarded kid... A comic book in which I teamed up Guybrush and Stan. It had errors, poor graphics and silly ideas. I was just a kid!

In case you wanna see it:

I can't believe they kept it for such a long time. I had a "part two" which was a little better and had 48 pages... They lost it when their servers crashed a looong time ago, and I formated my harddrive.

    Ah, my childhood dreams...

It just wouldn't be a complete game unless Stan shows up somewhere.
So he is like 100% certain to be in it.

*eyes glow red, skin glows green*

at least he better show up unless you want a voodoo cannonball lobbed at ye head!!!

I thought Stan was appearing in all the chapters, just like Bosco in Sam&Max's.
