About the brothers (Spoiler Alert)
If both brothers had survived, do you think things could have ended up better?
For instance Asher and the Pit Fighters could have sneaked into camp, ruining the supplies of Ludd's Army (also Asher could get Ludd's head) while Rodrik could have focused on defending Ironrath with the soldiers. Beshka will obviously save Ryon as usual so no need to take that into account.
In another scenario, perhaps both brothers could have sneaked into Ludd's camp but both could have killed Gryff and Ludd (the apple and the tree).
Thoughts?

Wow I'm surprised the Rodrik police haven't jumped on your back about spelling his name wrong =p
In answer to your question, yes I do think things would have worked out better and they most likely (in an ideal world) have happened the way you describe; unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world and this scenario would have, while being totally amazing for us; would have also made things too easy.
I would have liked to have seen both brothers survive. Rodrik would have stayed at Ironrath because he's the Lord and Asher would have been sent to Dorne to try and find allies. That could've been a really interesting story line and I think Asher would've fitted in very well there; with Beska at his side of course.
Rodrik Supporters: Gasps! We'll have your head for this.
Me: Lolz, I fixed it.
Rodrik Supporters: Nope, we're still putting your head on a stake.
I like to think so. If anything I would have loved to see more of them together since what, they exchanged like five sentences and then one had to leave the other to die? Not the Forrester brother reunion I was dreaming about for some odd episodes, Telltale. ;_; As the heir and the prodigal son I feel like their interactions and history would have been really interesting and I'm kinda (okay MAJORLY) blown we didn't get to see much of it. They definitely have different approaches to things and I think it would have been great to see how those balanced one another out.
Or Asher could've been sent to retrieve Mira, she did want to leave by that point.
