Its all a loop?

edited July 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
OK, I've seen so many theories indicating that the MI saga will end where it once began; Guybrush surviving a shipwreck or something and washing up on shore on Melee Island with the urge to become a pirate.

The idea that history repeats itself with Guybrush, Elaine and LeChuck always finding eachother is a really cool idea.

Or.. What if its NOT a timeloop..
What if.. MI2 is the first game chronologically?
What if.. SoMI is the last game chronologically?
That would certainly explain Guybrush's sudden different looks in SoMI and MI2.

Ugh.. my head hurts.

Anyways.. What would you guys prefer if a twist that big-a-scale came across us;
Crazy timeloop or alternate chronology?

..Or do you prefer that it will be one linear, never-ending story?

Time loops have been done, though. I personally love the twist at the end of Monkey Island 2. If only Elaine hadn't shown up and called it a curse. : P

Hehe. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea because I like screwy time stuff but...

    ... Naaaaaah.

What do you mean SOMI being the last chronologically, how could this work this is when he met them all for the first time.

Hehe, you just have to play Siren: Blood Curse.

    Amnesia?

Yeah, time-loops suck in this case. Guybrush would have to become really young again like in MI3.

I like the MI2 ending best. It was all an over-active imagination :-)

    Ask me about Loop.

I think time traveling in MI is better left to things like the Swamps of Time from EMI.

Really? Because they don't look that different between the first two games, save for getting a little older, growing a beard, and buying a jacket.

NOW... I want an explanation on how Guybrush suddenly looked different between MI2 and CoMI. I mean he grew like 5 feet, hair changed blonde, got a new nose, etc. etc.

Telltale already messed around with time travel in Sam and Max season two (and they done that pretty well).
I don't think they'd use the same type of stuff again ;)
