Has anyone tried to run SOMI:SE on a mac using VMware Fusion? Any success?

Hmmm, a program that doesn't run on a mac. I've never heard of THAT before... *snickers*

Oh geez, not again. A Mac program that doesn't run on Windows. I've never heard of THAT before... *snickers*

Now, for the love of god, stop the bashing. It would be fairly handy to have it run on Macs, since that would up the SoMI:SE userbase.

I'm thinking of buying it, and if I will, I'll let you know whether it runs okay on CrossOver, Fusion & Bootcamp.

Let's try and pretend to act like adults instead of kids from 1997 and leave the Mac-bashing posts out of this discussion. Thanks!

I've installed steam and its downloading so far on fusion. Will try to run it and let you guys know. I have been able to get TOMI to run on VMware Fusion so hopefully this one should go smoothly as well.

Thanks a bunch :) I had to dig up my Steam account that I made for a long lost Counter Strike game I bought a few years ago, found it though. Game is purchased. I hope I'll be able to give it a spin on my Macbook on friday, will post if anything interesting happens.

I tried the game on my macbook. It is working great mostly. Only thing I notice is the occasional audio jitter.

Unibody MacBook or white one? Could you post your specs?

I'm running the game on a new model 24" iMac (the lowest specs you can get on a 24", I don't feel like looking it up. I just know the it uses an Nvidia Geforce 9400 video processor). Running in VMWare Fusion with Tools installed, I think I have it setup to use 2 processors and about 2gb of my 4gb of RAM. Secret of Monkey Island runs flawlessly, even smoother than Tales. The only issue I have is occasionally when I do something to switch out of full gameplay mode (switching to classic view or going to the main menu, for example) the pillarbox bars on the side will often retain the graphic from the previous screen instead of staying black. I probably need to fix my resolution settings, anyway. Oh, and you may want to uncheck the preference in VMware that allows you to use Mac keyboard hotkeys from inside the virtual machine. Otherwise, F10 to switch to classic becomes difficult. Other than that, it's perfectly playable and, quite frankly, gorgeous.
