I 100% agree with you. The only reason I can see for what they did is to write the Martels and Dorne off the show entirely. From this point on I bet we get very little but someone killing Ellaria and the Sandsnakes then whoever takes over will be to busy cleaning up Dorne to bother with the rest of Westeros.
No on ever said it was. It's the fact that the logic of ShowEllaria/ShowSandsnakes COMPLETELY contradicts that of their book counterparts. N… moreot to mention the show logic itself is quite stupid:
Oberyn Martell: I seek justice for my sister, my niece, and my nephew.
Oberyn Martell: "In Dorne, we don't hurt little girls."
Oberyn Martell:DIES
Ellaria/Sandsnakes: Our father/lover died in a totally legal trial by combat. Therefore, we must avenge him by killing his only remaining brother and nephew and an innocent little girl. Oberyn would be so proud.
My main question is Greatjon really dead? He was never at the red wedding and Smalljon made an off handed comment about how he died and how he hated him, but there is no logical reason for Smalljon to hate his father. I doubt that they would just kill off an iconic character (declared Robb as "The King in the North!" first and had his finger bit off by Grey Wind for doubting Robb) who had little screen time. Any ideas, thoughts, theories?
I think the show is just going with the "next" Generation in the north. You have Ramsy, the Young Karstark and Smalljon Umber. All the Children of the lords who rode south. So from this point on I think it will just be showing how the younger generation runs the North. Trying to correct the sins of their fathers.
