    Well, first of all, it's "Backordered", not "Sold out".

    Also, it's an issue they're aware of and they're working on fixing it. But it's just an inaccurate notice, I'm pretty sure you should be able to finish your purchase and download the game anyway.

    Exactly. "Sold out" doesn't make any sense for a game you download.

    It does however for their estimated box copies they thought they needed.

    Maybe, although ordering the DVD is optional. But let's not overthink this :D

    I thought this was another complain thread lol! Like, "Telltale Games sold out" or something along those lines!

    Speaking of the hard copies possibly being back ordered/sold out, does anyone know if Telltale might do another deal sort of thing for the game, possibly when the second episode comes out? I've never followed the other Telltale Game releases before, so I was just curious if we could be expecting another deal anytime soon. I missed the pre-order bonus, and I'm kicking my ass now because of it!

    backordered, yea, maybe that's what it said. didn't screencap and now it's gone. and to clarify, I was trying to buy the download, that's why it seemed so surreal to me. how could they be out of downloads? :|

    Ah they probably ran out of bits and have to order them directly from Santa...

    Rather Dashing is correct. According to David E (over at this thread), you can still buy the season and have immediate access to the first episode download afterwards. You should be good to go if you give it another try.

    The recent trend seems to be Great Pre-Order Bonus, with a Free Game coupon lingering on a short while after release. I'm guessing in a year they'll discount it like they have done for Sam and Max, but otherwise you're more or less out of luck when it comes to a predictable sale. Might get lucky, but I wouldn't count on it.

    They are probably out of bandwidth due to enormous success :p

    Way to go TellTale! Wooo! :D This means that the sales are doing just fine!
    => More Monkey Island goodness!

    It would actually be nice to see just how many copies they actually sold. Maybe even compared to Sam and Max or their other games. :)
