Getting Stuck in SoMI?

Hi,

Just wondering, i thought you could get stuck in the game by putting all your money in the grog machine, but when i try the second time he says "im not stupid enough to try that twice" was this changed for the cd version which the SE is made off?

    Most likely. Have you tried giving all your money to Otis? :)

    It still works but it got annoying and was taking to long so i stopped.

    I came across a strange situation where Guybrush only had 173 pieces o' eight and when talking to Stan, that's what it said in the text in the conversation options. But when you clicked it, Guybrush would say he had 371 pieces o' eight.

    Yeah that part of the game is VERY glitchy. I talked Stan down to 3000, but his offer was "4200" though he was SAYING "5200"... and that's not the only audio glitch I noticed with Stan, there were several.

    For some reason, the dialog frequently uses incorrect money values. They especially like to reverse the numbers of the actual values. It's friggin' bizarre.

    You can still give all your money to otis, and you still get stuck with nothing to do if you havnt bought the shovel or sword.

    By the way, the CD version doesn't block you from spending all your money in the grog machine - it's just the SE that blocks it.

    Ok so it looks like they had to slighly edit the original (pixel) version then, but they didnt fix the otis way of losing your money.

    I read something from Lucas Arts a long time ago. I think they said something like:
    "Can you still loose the game if you put all your money in the machine?"
    And Lucasarts said:
    "Wait? You can loose all your money in the machine? I thought we fixed that by making him stop"

    So like the added the Dog close up. The probably added the fix

    It's not just that point. If you "Look at Money" then he will still say 371 instead of 173.

    So they fixed the grog machine 1 but left tha ability to give all your money to otis, i guess its no big problem since noone would be stupid enough to do it. The only reason i did it was to check if it still worked.

    No, there are several things you can put in the fire to add "burning mass" to your inventory, including the map you bought in Melee town, which you cannot add to the soup.

    I put the feather in the pot, i used the map on the fire.
