The King In The North THREAD

  • Nah, it was Random Bolton General #6 :D On a serious note, I think the Glovers were neutral on Battle of the Bastards, like most of the Northern houses. Ramsay only had Umbers and Karstarks on his side.

Wasn't that Glover who was arguing with Ramsey when he fell back to Winterfell? I swear it was his twin if not him.

  • Jon will make a fine king, dont worry about him. He has already had experience as Lord Commander. Not much, but some. Jeor Mormont saw a leader in him and I respect his judgement.

Jon being named King shows not only how old fashioned but how stupid men of the north are. And women I guess if we want to count Lyanna.

  • Well let's forget what I said about Lord Glover..

  • you are overthinking this too much, none of the things you say makes sense

I was talking about the lords "electing" him.

  • I like Jon and all, but he needs a lot of work before he can be a good King. The closest person to a king at this point, like not a conqueror (sorry Dany.. Dragons don't plant seeds) would have to be either Tyrion or Sansa.

Jon is a warrior.. He leads men into battle. They believe in him and will die for him. That's where hes at now for me

  • Sansa the closest thing to a king? She writes one letter and now she's Joan of Arc?

  • Thanks for the MAJOR spoilers in the Thread title Wigams. Really appreciate it.

  • Hmm... Great point actually.

Well then Tyrion for King. He's been hand of the king twice now and to both sides. And he was involved in a couple battles, mainly the Blackwater.

  • I loved Jon's scene but I'd have to go with Robb's. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Maybe it's the music.

  • I love Sansa but I lol'ed at this. I think Sansa would be good at being some kind of ambassador or in some capacity where she can schmooze and use her talents to get what they need from other houses and kingdoms. I honestly don't get the impression that she wants to be a leader. We've seen women who thirst for power and plenty of them on this show and I just don't feel that hunger from her. I do feel like Jon is going to give her a position of power. He seems to have grown more respect for her. If only Littlefinger would die, things would be perfect for the siblings.

Jon's scene. Because Lyanna Mormont is incredible, I really hope that she has a chance to grow up.

  • I dont get why people want sansa to be the leader over Jon. Shes better being the advisor

  • Thanks for the MAJOR spoilers

I dont see how its that major a spoiler, they could easily be on about season 1. Also if your that concerned why havnt you watched the episode before going on a game of thrones related forum?

  • I think Tyrion likes being Hand. He likes being an advisor and using his knowledge to help those on the throne. I don't know if he'd want to be a king. Not everyone wants to be in that position.

  • I dread his death. He's such a great actor. Him and Iwan Rheon. But he'll die before the war of the dawn.

I think the problem is people like me who only watch the show don't really understand enough about the families and their history past Roberts Rebellion. All I know about the Targaryens are the Mad King and then Rhaegar, (besides Dany, Vicerys and now Jon).

Before the recent events, it would be really hard to see these two as the rulers of the seven kingdoms, mostly for me Dany cause I thought she mirrored the mad King, and not the great Targaryen rulers.

I can see the kingdom even being split in two, with Jon ruling the North (especially when the Wall falls) and Dany ruling the South (And the Bay of Dragons) with Tyrion running as hand and advisor to both in some manner. He helped Jon before. Sansa probably will turn into the less selfish Littlefinger of the new world.

Out of all Starks I'd love to see Arya go to Dorne though, as a not obvious twist. She'd be great over there, especially the books version.

  • You prefer her ruling the north , or siting on the iron throne , people don't think this through ..

I don't know how likely that was to happen anyway. Lady Mormont aside, how open is the North to accepting a woman ruler over a man? If Sansa

just about how much more powerful/impact full is this scene now?

btw, damn Jon has been fighting from the beginning..he was born and his mother passed away, he was brought to house where he wasnt fully loved, got very sick (whether you believe that Cat had something to do with his illness or not) could've died, then live through his whole life with all these 'restrictions', then as he got older to the wall, his own choosing though, then fight the wildings, the wights, killing someone he seemed to admire to keep alive, fighting mutineers, then fight a big ass wilding army, losing his love in the process, then seeing a freaking massacre, get killed, come back to life, kill other mutineers and one is a kid, then fight another big ass war/army, losing his half brother. all to get to where he is.

oh and hear about his father's "treason" and death, and his brother's as well..

    damn..
