Unofficial FAQ (Last Updated July 1, 2016)
Since a new Poker Night game has been teased, we decided to change the format to have separate posts for each game, to make it easier to read.
Please note all information here is compiled by volunteer moderators who are not Telltale Staff members.
Community moderators such as Jennifer and Vainamoinen helped write this FAQ. We check our facts thoroughly and have a lot of Telltale experience on our backs, but this is not an 'official' source, we're just volunteers!

The Inventory General FAQ
(1)What is The Inventory?
The Inventory is a venue created by Telltale Games to allow characters from various video game franchises to crossover with each other. The game history is as follows: It is a a well hidden speakeasy, located in the basement of the original location of Dick and Kent's Games and Amusements Factory, where game characters come to relax in their spare time. It was created in 1919, in response to an early draft of the 18th amendment of the United States Constitution, which would have banned the production and sale of games and entertainment as well as alcohol. There have been two games set in The Inventory so far, Poker Night at the Inventory and Poker Night 2.
(2)Will Telltale make more games set in The Inventory?
This is very possible, as it has been teased, but not confirmed. In 2013, Telltale's co-founder and current CEO, Kevin Bruner, stated that they intend to release another Poker Night sized game in the Future.
Poker Night 2 FAQ
(1) What is Poker Night 2?
Poker Night 2 is the sequel to Poker Night at the Inventory. In this game, the poker players are Sam from Sam & Max, Claptrap from Borderlands, Brock Samson from Venture Bros, Ash Williams from Evil Dead (specifically his likeness from Army of Darkness, although he's played by Danny Webber rather than Bruce Campbell), and The Player as the stand-in for the player. Reginald Van Winslow from Tales of Monkey Island returns as the host, but GLaDOS from Portal takes over as dealer. Moxxi from Borderlands is the bartender, and Max from Sam & Max and "Heyoo!" Steve from Borderlands appear in speaking cameo roles.
(2) Were the creators from the various franchises involved in the game?
Telltale secured the rights to the characters from their franchise owners, but the Telltale writers wrote the dialog. However, most of the original actors reprised their roles. The exceptions are Max, who was voiced by Dave Boat as opposed to William Kasten (who played Max in most of Telltale's Sam & Max games), and Ash Williams, who was played by Danny Webber instead of Bruce Campbell.
(3) What is gameplay like?
Like it's predecessor, It is a single player only game where the main purpose of the game is to enjoy conversations with game characters while you play a round of Poker. This time around, however, there are conversations that continue into multiple tournaments, which, when heard together, form a cohesive storyline. The unlocks for Team Fortress 2 on Steam return, and they are joined by unlocks for Borderlands 2 (for both games, you can unlock items for each of the four characters, and GLaDOS). XBLA gamers can unlock items for their avatars, and PSN gamers can unlock dynamic themes for PlayStation 3. You can also unlock items from each franchise which will change the decoration of The Inventory into that of that respective franchise (The Borderlands theme turns The Inventory into Pandora, the Portal theme changes it into Aperture Science Labs, etc.) This time around, you can also play two types of poker, Texas Hold'em and Omaha Hold'em.
(4) I should have won! Why did the game just say I lost this hand?
Omaha Hold'em rules are very different from Texas Hold'em rules. Please see this post for a detailed description for how Omaha Hold'em Poker is played.
(5) For which platforms is Poker Night 2 available?
Poker Night 2 is available for PC and Mac through Steam, PSN on PlayStation 3, XBLA on Xbox 360, and on iOS.
(6) How much does Poker Night 2 cost?
It is the current usual price of a Telltale games episode, $5. The price might vary by platform.
(7) Will Poker Night 2 be ported to other platforms?
This is unlikely as Telltale mainly only ports their seasons to other platforms.
(8) Is there a bonus/free collector's DVD version for Poker Night 2 available from the Telltale store?
No, and it is unlikely that any games set in The Inventory will ever be released on physical media because of all the licensing involved and the small price point for the game.
(9) Is there a soundtrack CD available?
No soundtrack CD was ever produced for Poker Night 2. Since Telltale has mostly moved on from physical merchandise, it seems unlikely that a soundtrack CD will be released in the future.
Poker Night at the Inventory FAQ
(1) What is Poker Night at the Inventory?
Poker Night at the Inventory is a game that uses the engine from Telltale's first game, Telltale Texas Hold'em, but allows you to play poker with characters from many different video game franchises. In this game, the poker players are Max from Sam & Max, Tycho from Penny Arcade, Strong Bad from Homestar Runner, The Heavy from Team Fortress 2, and The Player as a stand-in for the player. Reginald Van Winslow from Tales of Monkey Island serves as the host and dealer, and various characters from Telltale games appear in non-speaking cameo roles.
(2) Were the creators from the various franchises involved in the game?
Telltale secured the rights to the characters from their franchise owners, and sometimes (as was said to be the case with Strong Bad), the original creators helped with the dialog. All the original actors (or at least, in the case of Max, the original actors from Telltale's seasons) reprised their roles. In addition, Tycho is given a voice for the first time, played by Telltale regular Andrew Chaikin (also known as Kid Beyond).
(3) What is gameplay like?
It is a single player only game where the main purpose of the game is to enjoy conversations with game characters while you play a round of Poker. There are unlocks for Team Fortress 2 on Steam (you can unlock items for each of the four characters). As with Telltale Texas Hold'em before it, the only type of poker that is available is Texas Hold'em.
(4) For which platforms is Poker Night 2 available?
Poker Night 2 is available for PC through Steam. It also used to be available through the Telltale store, but it is no longer for sale there.
